What the story about the use of SmartFresh? A pretty name for a chemical called 1-MCP used to extend shelf life of apples. I've been smelling synthetic perfumy scent from my WFM organic apples for the past few years and got no answer from WFM management team, constantly dodging the issue. I'd like to know the answer. Are your organic apples treated directly or sneakily treated with this chemical or not.

@LORI - I replied to your comment on our Facebook page but wanted to clarify on here as well. Smartfresh is not allowed in any kind of organic apple production. If you want to avoid SmartFresh, please choose organic produce.
