What’s Brewing: We Want to Hear from You!

In our constant quest to make Whole Foods Market even better, we make a practice of consulting the real experts — our customers.

Think about it — who better to help us improve our stores than the people who use them? That’s why shoppers are invited to join us for light snacks and good conversation.

When: Thursday November 13th, from 6pm – 8pm

Where: Your local store

This won’t be the first time we’ve invited shoppers to share feedback over snacks. We hosted a similar event last year, and found that customers were full of good ideas. Your suggestions ranged from faster checkout times to more special diet options and more variety on the hot bars.

It didn’t take us long to put your ideas into action. For example, in response to requests for faster checkout times, we enhanced training and support for our cashiers and baggers. We added new back-up cashiers and even created a new position. The “Front Runner” is a dedicated team member who provides an extra level of service at the register. Similar to the concierge in a hotel, the Front Runner helps with all kinds of customer needs, from checking a price to assisting customers to their cars.

With all of this positive momentum from last year, we’re looking forward to hearing from you again this year. If you can, please take a moment to stop by your local store on November 13th from 6pm-8pm to meet with the store leadership team and tell them what’s on your mind.

For additional details or any questions, please contact the customer service team at your local store.

Have a suggestion but can’t make it to the event? Tweet your suggestions with the hashtag #wfmwishlist or leave us a note in the comments.

I think it will be great to build more Whole Food markets in Philadelphia; specifically the inner city and also have a Whole Foods rewards card that customers can swipe to gain discounts and coupons. Thank you!

I would like to see you offer a Reds only option on your Wine Club. We live an hour from the nearest Whole Foods. I cannot get there as often as I would like, plus our local places don't have wine. While vacationing in Lake Tahoe we stocked up at the Reno Whole Foods including wine. I was pleasantly surprised by some of your red wines. My wife cannot drink white wines as they cause her to have headaches. As a long time stockholder and a long time shopper, please consider my Red wine only option. We belong to several California Winery clubs. Thanks: Randall Wadsworth in Shepherdstown, WV.

this is hard to say as i love whole foods but i just tried two of your handmade soups..kale and sweet potato and vegetarian thing with beans..and i literally after two spoonfuls of each thought is anyone seriously tasting this as they cook…they were inedible and bland and completely without any flavoring…I'm not used to cornflower msg but good home made soup and this was just dreadful… the beans were undercooked and crunchy and uncomfortable to eat and the kale one was just water with sweetcorn and kale thrown in…no love in these dishes..so i suggest you have a taster…very put off by this..apart from the fact i am hungry and spent enough to be bummed out that i have to go find something else..staying away from whole foods…put the love back in please…best angela mccluskey

I would love to shop at your store and come to your events but it's just so Far Away ! I go as often as I can but living in Forest Lake - it is costly to drive to any of your locations! When can we enjoy one of your stores in the NorthEast section! You would surely benefit from the northeast suburbs of the Twin Cities but could also draw people from eastern Wisconsin and cities north of Forest Lake We are centered on several main thorough-fares - I35, Hwy 97, and Hwy 8. PLEASE, PLEASE come our way !!!!!

Recently my family traveled to Idaho for a vacation. My son is 1 and has many food allergies. We were delighted to find the Boise store and picked up a few items for snacks and a picnic while we were in town. The staff was so helpful, the deli staff even washed the fruit and diced up the avocado we purchased!!! I have always had great customer service at Whole Foods in Minnetonka, MN, but this really was above and beyond. We have been home for a few weeks now, but i couldn't miss this opportunity to share this exceptional experience.

Ive had a serious issue (to me) the last two of four times I've been to the whole foods store on north academy in Colorado Springs. Of course your stores are great for trying to get to healthier based goods and I along with many others spend hundreds there every week for my family and business. I have purchased soups in your open deli area that are labeled Vegan only to find out they are not. Yesterday I purchased a bean soup that read on its label (the white one they put above the soup) VEGAN. it looked good as most of your food always does only to leave and go eat a bite for lunch. On my third spoon full I saw meat. This may be nonchalant to you but it ruined my day. Tears welled up in my eyes that I had the flesh of a dead animal in my mouth and was fooled once again. I was also hurt that your store employees did not care to notice when preparing or putting out the meal. I rarely complain because I work hard at my business too but this really is inexcusable. Please educate your staff there. I care.

Build in Downtown, EastJax (Inner City) Jacksonville, FL - after looking at other comments The development team should be looking at Inner City Infill Store Development Nationwide. $WFM could seize the opportunity to capitalize by being a solution for "food deserts".

I've been a regular shopper at Whole Foods for many years. There are many things I love about the stores. Please re-consider your advice to eat a low fat, high carb diet. There's ample new scientific evidence that proves this way of eating is not the best method to achieve vibrant health. Also, please consider providing some prepared foods in your grab and go section that don't contain canola oil. Why not olive oil, or coconut oil, or butter? Everything you prepare in the store has canola oil in it, it seems. Not all of your regular customers eat canola oil. Thank you.

@CY - I'm so sorry to hear that. Were you able to speak with store leadership about this? If not, let me know and I would be happy to put you in touch with them directly.

I heard that Whole foods will be opening a 4th store on Oahu in Hawaii in Central Oahu, I've looked online but haven't found any information. Can you please help?

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@SUSAN - We have announced a location for Honolulu but there haven't been any additional details released since the announcement. The store will have specific info online on our site at https://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/list/development once they are closer to opening.

I am a customer at your Montclair, NJ store I would a more frequent shopper if it was located closer to where I live, which is Clifton, NJ. approximately a 45 minute drive. In todays local paper there was an announcement from ACME that it is closing their store, located in an outdoor mall in Clifton. I immediately thought of Whole Foods replacing it. It is an ideal placement with a dense white collar population. The building is free standing with a huge parking area surrounded my many stores, restaurants and office buildings. I know it would be a successful location. kindly respond John Visco

I understand no one wants to come to Central New York because we seem so far away from everything but alot of people would benefit from your store in Syracuse, NY...It's a college town and your store would help our young people as well as older make healthier choices. I went to your store located in Atlanta, GA, last year, and I thought I was going to pass out from how awesome the store was...Please come this way...thanks!

I concur with Jenn's post in November. Please consider a store in Morgan Hill, CA! Ffitness driven community with many fine restaurants and local farming..it will do well.

Please bring back your Prairie Bread! My wife and I have been Gluten Free for the last year, literally suffering through many loaves of Gluten Free breads by all of the other manufactures in search of something that we could tolerate and finally found your Prairie Bread, which was a delight! We just found it last month and truly enjoyed it! We were extremely disappointed to find out that you have discontinued it. This past weekend, we drove 30 minutes (to your store in Marlton, NJ) mostly for the bread and were told that you have decided to discontinue making it. It's such a shame, because we have been talking about and finally decided to do most of our shopping at your store because of your Gluten Free selections and specifically your Prairie Bread. We can get most of your other Gluten Free selections at other stores in our area, but your Prairie Bread is the best Gluten Free bread we have tasted since we became Gluten Free. Please reconsider your choice and let us know when you carry it again. Thank you, Mike

Is Ft Worth, Texas getting a whole Foods store?

Susan Finneran says …

Love Whole Foods. BUT...Please consider opening a Whole Foods Market in Southern Indidan. I live in Jeffersonville IN, wich is across the Ohio River from Louisville KY. We reall need a Whole Foods on this side of the river. There is no food market like yours in our area. Please Please open one soon! (Before the the new bridge opens and we have to pay tolls to cross into KY)

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@NANCY - We do have a store announced for Fort Worth but we do not have an eta on when they will be opening. http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/company-info/stores-development

I live in Southington Connecticut and love your stores. My nearest store is located in West Hartford Ct about 25 miles away but to get there you have to travel a very busy interstate (RT 84). I think a store in my vicinity would be a huge success. If not Southington say a town like Cheshire, which is next door to Southington. Keep us in mind on any future expansion in my state. thanks

We need urgent a Whole Food Market in Killeen, Texas. This city has the money to support it. We have a lot of military service retirees living here..and are ready for a up scale food market. If not Killeen, at least you should look at Georgetown, we could shop there once in a while.. Dorothea Enlow

A whole foods in Morgan Hill, CA would be greatly appreciated!! We have grown in population and it would be a great fit for our community. Thanks!

Jeanne Gemmell says …

My 2 local WF stores in DC (Northwest) no longer carry the gluten-free prairie bread. Any reason why? I really miss it! Many thanks!

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@JEANNE - Since our buying is done at the store/regional level it's best to check with the store to see if this is something that is a vendor out of stock or just temporary. They will be happy to help!

i want to thank Adam Thein in customer service at the Madison, Wi Whole Foods store for going above and beyond for me. A friend of mine was to sick with cancer to get to the store for groceries. I have always shopped for his groceries in that store. I was out of town and another friend called me to inform me he had no food in his house. I called and Adam answered. I explained the situation of sending this other friend to pick up groceries and how it would me a nightmare for this poor guy to pick out what he needed. Adam immediately took down my list of groceries, checked them out and had them ready for his buddy to pick them up. Adam called me and I got it paid for with my credit card. I was so grateful that he handled everything. Here is the kicker, the bill sounded to low to me and I said, wow that sounds low. Well, he called back and had forgotten to ring up a few extra things. When I called him back to pay, he said he took care of it. What a beautiful thing he did. I can't thank him enough. I think it is time for a promotion, right Whole Foods! Lol. Anyway, thank you again so much and I will never forget your generoristy Adam Thein!!! Sincerely Liz Austermiller P.S. I love all the meat dept staff, Bill, Mitch and everybody. And also the check out staff, Andrea and everybody. Y'all are wonderful.

URGENT! of most important that Whole Food stops offering free sample by display on tables in all their stores. Whenever I taste from those samples at Whole Food most often I get sick and have to run to the bathroom few hours later with diarrhea. I discovered that those free sample promotions that manufactures give at Whole Food are EXPIRED PRODUCT and its illegal to sell expired products but apparently this illiberality does not to products SERVED as promotions. Whole Food has to stop those free promotions in their stores or strongly supervise them to make sure those products given to customers IS NOT EXPIRED and IS NOT UNHEALTHY.

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@LIZ - This is amazing to hear...so happy Adam was able to help you!

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@JACK - I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. We should not be providing expired products as samples. Most of the time samples will feature new products that we carry that have not expired yet. If you let me know which location you shop at, I can get you in touch with their store leadership team.

I often have to leave Whole Foods on Yulupa Ave., Santa Rosa, CA, with my shopping incomplete - because they almost never stock green organic bananas - seemingly always yellow ones and ready-to-eat that very day - and all too often because 2-3 other organic vegetables are not available. I then drive to the only real competition in the area - Oliver's Market on Montecito Ave. in Santa Rosa. They invariable, without fail, have all these items. Not only that - all the organic produce is arranged on two specific counters. At Whole Foods - conventional produce is comingled with organic - requiring the individual to take extra time and care when purchasing their produce. Not only is this an inconvenience - it makes a bad impression on the shopper: Whole Foods is hoping the shopper will shrug-off the unavailable organic and settle for conventional - which now is being deceptively graded by Whole Foods to encourage increased sales, no doubt. That is degrading Whole Food’s image - and that is your raison d'etre, your niche, your cachet (health, organic, pure, etc. – that has been years abuilding, which allows you to charge high prices, but only so long as people perceive they are getting commensurately high quality. Whole Foods is dancing with the devil in trying to fool people into buying conventional food now labeled, good, better and best. You are betraying the trust millions have placed in your corporate name - the consequences are very predictable – watch your market share plummet. An immediate change in corporate policy is absolutely essential - return to your organic roots post haste..

As a vegetarian, nearly vegan, I am frustrated by the lack of appropriate labeling on deli foods. It takes me too much time to go through all the ingredients to verify if a prepared item is suitable for my diet. If Sweet Tomatoes can label its many food items V-vegan and Vg-vegetarian, plus also "gluten friendlly", so could WF. In the past when I have suggested this, I have simply been given the run around; hence, I am not a happy WF shopper.

I saw a video online recently about how plastics are recycled and was shocked to learn how much water was used and how many industrial chemicals were needed to remove the labels and glue off bottles and other plastic packaging. At a time when we are absolutely running out of water, I would like to suggest that Whole Foods contact 3M to find a glue to use for all your labels that works better than what you are currently using. I have stumbled upon many packages whose labels hold tenaciously but can be removed without a lot of exhausting effort, such as soaking and scraping with a knife, and spraying with WD40 and then washing with soap and water! Right now I am trying to remove the label from a Whole Foods brand nutrient called Bone Complex and I have to say it is hopeless! Please move on this and please when you can pursue finding a video to watch that addresses this very important subject. Thank you.

We have been customers of whole Foods for many years. We were shocked to have read and saw pictures from a pig farm that supplies Whole Foods with pork. The pictures were graphic, hundreds of pigs crowded together many with huge sores and not taken care of. Most all Company's know how their products or animals are raise. I assume Whole Foods knows what conditions these pigs are raise under so they must approve of them. You lost us as a customer. 09/23/2015

Your stores already carry other Genesis Today products. There are many other customers like my self looking to purchase this Juice. Nothing else compares to the taste & benefits. Can You please consider stocking this product in your Florida Stores??? IF Not, why not? Thank you for your time & patience
