We all should always strive to help each other and share. With fair trade, I feel like I am making a difference and giving part of myself.

I have made increasing efforts over the last ten or so years to purchase more fair trade and and organic products. I feel better about spending my dollars on products that are produced responsibly.

I am begining to realize that if all nations and people can find some ethical and sustainable way to be successful and support themselves, that our world can be a much better place. It is inspiring to see a small collective of people (women! - Alaffia) create a product and have it in our local Whole foods Market. I would rather support them directly and others world wide by using MY dollars, buying their products, than having to send governmental aid that will decreased by the many hands that process it.

Although I use many of the products, the one I purchase most often is the Dark Chocolate bars. Not only is dark chocolate healty because of the antioxidents it is really good. Whole Foods offers a range of flavors for variety. If you like dark chocolate, try these bars. You not only are helping yourself but also helping the people in others in developing countries.

I just like the whole idea of fair trade, which doesn't SEEM like it should be a radical idea, but that's what it has become. So right on, WF, for helping keep the idea alive.

Hello, Before before Fair Trade marketing became popular, I was buying the products. Originally I am from Missouri, which seemed to be ahead of our time in practicing fair trade. There were a number of local shops which offered fair trade items to complement their merchandise. My church group was a reseller for fair trade items, especially made by women. I have also made many purchases at a fair trade shop in St. Louis managed by Quakers. I enjoy seeing the unique items offered, and am thankful I can help a family to survive, even though my purchases are so meager. Thanks, Barb

I was raised with my father being a share cropper. Lots of people are embarrassed by this and would not even tell their story, but I am proud. My father and mother worked hard everyday. I did not have a lot growing up, but I learned important values. I am white, am 53, have been healthy all my life, except dental issues. I think this is because we did not have money to buy the shampoos, the dental items, etc. But, my main point is that we grew our own food, we had hogs, chickens, etc. That is how we ate. As I got older, I started eating pre-packaged foods, etc. At 53, my age now, I have been diagnosed with fibromalgia. I have gone back to the basics, eating black beans, bulgar, whole wheat, etc., and am actually losing weight without even exercising. I trust it helps my fibromalgia, but it is very painful. Other people look at me and say things like, "How can you eat this way?" It is very easy for me because I can go back and be grateful for the way I was raised. Was it easy to be raised like a child like this with everyone else having money and clothes, etc., that I did not have? No. But it sure taught me values and healthy eating! And, because of my hard work, I now have a Master's Degree and have 17 years of civilian federal employment. Once again, values, honesty, faith, and God! If my parents were alive today, I would truly thank them!!! Thanks for this opportunity. Louise 803-457-5679

UNLIKE IN DECADES PAST WHERE VERY LITTLE IF ANY PROFIT WAS EVER REINVESTED IN THE COMMUNITIES WHERE THE LABORERS LIVED; MOST OF THE PROFITS WILL GO BACK TO THOSE AND THEIR COMMUNITIES THAT LABORED TO BRING WONDERFUL PRODUCTS TO US IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD.

I am really impressed with Shea butter body lotion for my children. one employee at Whole foods talked highly about the lotion stating that is great for rash/dry skin and that works great for diaper rash for babies. so I decided to give it a try even if my kids are not babies they are grown ups 7and 10 yrs old. it really helps their skin it is smooth and very soft like a baby. I am really delight with Shea produts and hopefully I can win this basket for my children.

I like the products because they are all natural which would be good for your body. Plus, I have a peace of mind knowing that the people who make the products are being treat right and also they money that I use to purchase the products, some will go to them to help them cop with poverty. So , if you ask me it is a win win situation!!

Knowing where the products I use (and the food I eat) come from is really important to me. I'd like to know who makes them and where they are. Local is better and preferable. But for some things, that's impossible. So, for products that come from afar, I want to know that the producers, growers, and all the other people involved in the process are treated fairly, that there aren't toxic substances involved, and that the production is sustainable. If Whole Trade Products live up to these simple, basic requirements, then I'll be glad to purchase them.

The world gets smaller and your neighbors from afar get closer. Helping people who are working hard to provide us natural products is the only logical step for all of us. Thank you WF for your push to provide fair and healthy work conditions for the true workers of the world.

i believe in buying whole trade products for a few reasons. it ensures that the workers that labor for hours and hours on end are treated like humans and not like chattle. second, it gives me a sense of pride to know that, although i spend more money, that money is going to the greater good of humanity. it's not just me buying food for myself, but that money i spent buying coffee or my favorite produce, but allows others to provide for their families in less profitable nations. lastly, the quality of the products found in whole foods stores far surpasses the other stores and i wouldn't, nor do i, shop anywhere else!

It is very important to have a fair trade policy with less fortunate countries, as the U.S. Having a job, and income promotes self esteem, of the individual and also necessary to make a living and having the money to live.
