We didn't get pumpkin pie last year, and I was totally bummed out about that. I love pumpkin pie. But since we found out that our youngest has a dairy allergy, and my oldest and I both have an egg allergy, pumpkin pie was taken off the menu. Thankfully, though, I found some great vegan ingredient substitutions for the pumpkin pie, and I'm attempting to make one myself this year. *fingers crossed*

Thanks for this great post. Let me add my family's FAVORITE Thanksgiving and Christmas dessert, the classic Kahlua Pecan Pie. We just made one this weekend, and I posted the recipe here http://worththewhisk.com/2010/11/20/the-original-classic-kahlua-pecan-pie/ Happy Holidays!

I made the Pumpkin Apple Pie for all my holiday gatherings last year and it was a hit. It's probably on of my favorite pies.
