It's all about the dips in our house. I like to put out different spreads like hummus, fresh salsa and we dip veggies or crackers - a big hit with adults and kids alike!

The most versatile snack dipper I use is plain Greek yogurt. If you've got a sweet tooth that day you can drizzle a little honey on it and dip some fruit in it like peaches and strawberries. If your in more of a savory mood you can mix in some herbs and spices, or find your favorite veggie dip packet and voila! Dunk your favorite veggies and you've got a healthier dip in your hands. I love, love, love sliced cucumbers in it.

Back when it wasn't common to be gluten free, my daughter had to have lunches and snacks packed for school. Thank God my brother was a very inventive chef. He helped me come up with snack ideas that Sarah truly liked and was not embarrassed to take to school ;) Lots of fruits and veggies with different dips. each cut small and in neat designs. A chex mix with the rice chex, nuts, raisins and other dried fruits. Many rice dishes that were easy to heat in the micro wave. For breakfast some times she had cooked rice with cinnamon and and cranberries ( dried ) with a little cream. All of the above would have been easier to put together with all the wonderful little containers out now. Hope this helps with ideas. Now to star t again with the Grand kids :) Jenni

Most of my favorites are healthy. Growing up, my sister and I used to sit and eat alfalfa sprouts right from the box. We even fought over them. :) Fruit is a huge favorite, but I have to be careful not to overdo it. I may be the only person who has to watch their intake of fruits and veggies in terms of getting excess calories from them! Recently a favorite afternoon snack to keep me going has been pretzel crisps dipped in different nut butters. A little goes a long way. Yum!!

My favorite snack always entails crunchy almond butter. I like either Granny Smith apples or Kabocha squash sprinkled with cinnamon, and then, topped with some almond butter. Yum!

Humus and pretzels. I especially like pretzel chips. All the nutrition bars at Whole Foods are excellent. Premade trail mix with chocolate at the bulk food section is super yummy. Precut and cleaned ready to eat fruit is great for sharing.

My favorite snack is dried mango slices cut up into tiny pieces and mixed with salted whole almonds. The two flavors are wonderful and the mix is sweet, salty, and super-healthy.

My favorite quick snack is toasted sour dough bread, with dijon mustard, arugula, avocado & red onions. Vegan and delicious!
