Since being diagnosed with celiac disease I have tried a lot of different kinds of GF bread. Whole Foods so far has the best flavor of any that I tried.

Do you have a list of things you carry that I could order and get shipped to my house? I live in Alliance and don't have a Whole Foods Store near us.

@DALE - We offer shipping on certain items through our Concierge desk at our downtown Austin location. You can reach them at 512.542.2243 and they can go over their shipping guidelines. They should also be able to provide you with a list of what they offer at the Lamar location.

@MELISSA - Thanks for your question. I am guessing by your comment that you are looking specifically for gluten free and vegan options in the D.C. area? If so, you will need to reach out to the store you will be visiting as or products vary between regions and store locations. You can find their contact information at http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/list. Have fun!

I love your gluten-free pecan pie. However, most of the time, the Whole Food store in Richmond VA does not carry it. Can I order it directly from the bakery?

@NATALIE - Unfortunately, our Bakehouses are not set up as retail facilities. It might be that the pecan pie is more of a holiday/seasonal product. If you haven't already, I would suggest reaching out to the Bakery Team Leader at your local store to see the availability of when the pie is available for order and to express your interest in the product. I'm sure they will be happy to work with you to order the product if possible!

Hi there! This is so exciting! I LOVE Wholefoods and live in the DC area now. I usually go to the Clarendon store but I don't believe they have GF Bakery goods there...do they?! Would be so convenient to get more GF baked goods at this location!!!

@FRANK - I was able to check with our Private Label team and have no fear, they are out of stock right now but we have no plans to discontinue them. Keep an eye out over the next month for them to be back in your store!

I find that your own baked products are far superior to any of the other brands that you stock. Therefore I'm very disappointed that in the past several weeks they seem to be unavailable. Have you discontinued baking them? An unhappy customer. Doris Kriegsman, NYC

@DORIS - So sorry your local store has been out of stock. To my knowledge, we have not discontinued our gluten free breads. Were you able to ask your local store why they were out? If not, let me know which location and I can look in to it for you!

@MARY - Our gluten-free bakehouse makes items for our various stores. The new store in Jackson should have some items that are made in the gluten free bakehouse. Reach out to them directly to find out what they have in stock!

@PATRICIA - Our exact GF options differ between stores. Check with your local store to see if they carry anything like this. We don't have dedicated GF kitchens in our stores so they might offer something that is frozen.

I am a RD student finishing my internship. I have to give a case study report at the end of my clinical and the pt is a celiac patient. I would love to observe your bakery some time and get an idea of the different products there are out there for celiac patients to cook with. And that the food taste good. Thanks Susan

Thank you, Lee Tobin, for your hard work. I am sorry you have Celiac disease - but you did the classic "make lemonade when you are handed lemons" and you are helping SO many others with gluten issues. Thank you for sharing what you learned!

My daughter who is 6 was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Do all whole foods have gluten free ovens?
06/02/2014 2:46:59 PM CDT
Nikki - Community Moderator says ...
@SHANA - This blog post is specifically about our gluten free bakehouse that is an offsite facility. We do not currently have dedicated gluten free kitchens in our stores so nothing that we make in store can be certified as gluten free due to possible cross contamination. We should still have tons of options available for you for packaged items. You can even find a gluten free store specific list for your local store on their web page. You can find your local store here and the list should be along the right hand side. Hope that helps! http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/list
