Supporting local businesses and producers puts money back into our local communities to support local needs. Is there a downside to encouraging new creations for food and other healthy products?

I love Whole Foods - but live in NW Indiana and there is not one close. I have to go to my sons house in Palatine, IL to shop - but it is well worth the ride!

One of the reasons I shop at Whole Foods is because of the availability of fresh produce and other products from local producers. I also love to visit our local farmer's market. It's comforting to know who and where my food is coming from and I feel a sense of community when my family is consuming food from our own community.

I love supporting our local businesses and farmers, because I know where my food is coming from and what is in it. My dad is a local organic farmer, and I know the work that goes into producing healthy and nutritious foods!

Local farming is a great way of taking care of our planet and the natural environment. It also gives contribution to our hard-working farmers and supports local communities. I support local farming mainly because it promotes healthy living and great-tasting food that comes from natural resources rather than exploited or used sythetically. I buy locally and give thanks to all of those who do too!

I like to buy as much locally produced foods as possible. The quality of produce, meats, and dairy products is much better when they're fresh, and it also helps to support our local community.

My favorite Saturday morning ritual is to go to my local farmer's market and purchase my produce, bread, and eggs for the week. My husband and I are regulars and love to walk around and catch up with the local growers. The sense of community we feel feel there is unmatched by a trip to the big-box grocery stores.

I love supporting local business because it reminds us how we are all connected and gives a sense of community. It's also a great way to learn about your hometown and neighbors while experiencing great flavors and scents that are unique. I travel a lot for work and love stopping at the nearest Whole Foods Market to see what they have that is unique to the area. It makes for a fantastic dinner and great way to broaden your horizons!

Keeping it local is what it's all about! You know where your food comes from, how it was grown, meet great people and help to support small farms that can really use it! And as an added bonus, I get valuable info on my own gardening endeavors!
