All three of the podcasts have very much been an inspiration to me! I do agree that depression can have many causes, like physiology, genetics, environmental and biochemical. The St.John's Wort sounds worth looking into along with matching the right botanical with the right mood. Thanks very much.....Cindi

I don't discount the benefits from natural supplements but I also think you should have a "buyer beware" type of attitude. There are many rogue companies that exist that will take your money. I love the home grown remedies, but I am not sold on many of the "natural pills" that exists. Eating healthy, getting enough sleep and exercise to allow the body heal itself is what I try to do do first for myself and my family.

I know for myself and my children, I've more and more come to seek out alternative medicine or practices rather than always what my doctor might recommend or perscribe. Personally, I have found great success for my son's excema with a red clover cream and chickweed drops, as well as borage and evening primrose oil. As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, boosting up Omega 3,6,9 intake with supplements seems to have helped quite a bit.

It's interesting to hear how there are traditional responses to depression and anxeity that seem to be ignored in our pharma happy society.

My grandmother was a firm believer in barley water with lemon. Once I was in my teens, she would regularly make it for me. To this day, I prefer traditional remedies, where they make sense. Thanks for an informative podcast.

I really enjoyed this podcast and plan on listening to it again so I can write down all the suggested herbs and their uses. I also hope to swing by my nearest Whole Foods (20 miles away) and stock up my natural medicine cabinet!

HErbs have some many medicinal benefits. Ginger and lemon are an obvious combination this time of year. As the fall season comes along I always crave more warm tinctures.

I found this very interesting. I have always been fascinated by herbal remedies compared to traditional medicines. I used to think that a lot of the things my mom did were just silly old "wives tales" until I realized that there was truly a basis for it. I'm inspired to learn more. Thank you for the podcast.

Interesting, informative podcast, voices are pleasant and the enunciation was good. I can attest to the benefits of both St. John's Wort and Kava Kava myself.

Important information. I appreciate that you identify specific herbs that have been researched so that it provides us with a starting place. This type of information is so important in light of all the traditional medical practitioners who so easily prescribe unnatural remedies.
