Holiday Bake-Off

Are you a baking whiz adept at creating recipes to meet your or your family’s special dietary needs? Think your baked goods should be called baked betters because they’re so scrumptious? Then warm up the oven and break out your mitts because we have a bake-off on our hands! Whole Foods Market has teamed up with Earth Balance and is sponsoring a Holiday Bake-off to celebrate the debut of their Made Just Right™ web site. In their own words, Made Just Right is a community where like-minded people can share recipes, photos, cooking advice, product reviews, food news and lifestyle tips. Whether you’re vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free or someone who chooses to use only natural, non-GMO products, you’ll find flavorful and delicious recipes and tips that jive with your diet. Made Just Right is featuring a different holiday baking category each week in December. All you need to do is go to their site and submit your favorite original dessert recipe (and a photo!) for the week’s category, using one or more Earth Balance products. Winners will receive a year’s supply of Earth Balance and a $400 Whole Foods Market gift card. Two winners will be chosen for each category and you can submit multiple recipes in any of the categories. Here are the entry periods for each dessert categories:
  • November 29 – December 5: Pie recipe contest (e.g. cheesecake, tarts, fruit and crème pies)
  • December 6 – December 12: Dessert Bars recipe contest (e.g. brownies, fudge, lemon bars and toffee bars)
  • December 13 – December 19: Cookie recipe contest (e.g. peanut butter, sandwich cookies, grasshoppers, sandies, any holiday cookie)
  • December 20 – December 26: Cake recipe contest (e.g. cupcakes, coffee cakes, petit fours, sponge cake, devil’s food, angel food, Tiramisu, pound cake, Genoise and dessert breads)
Visit the Made Just Right web site for additional bake-off details and to submit your recipes. Now get baking!

Wow, that cake looks to good to be true. I'm just getting the hang of baking, so I'm not competing. Watching and salivating? Yes. Competing? No :)
