Mulled Wine Recipe Ingredients: 6 cinnamon sticks, crushed 2 TB cardamom pods, crushed 3 TB dried lemon peel 3 TB dried orange peel 3 TB whole cloves 3 TB chopped crystallized ginger 2 TB whole allspice 1 TB black peppercorns (optional) Cheesecloth or cooking sachets 1 bottle dry red wine Sugar, to taste (1/3–2/3 cup suggested) Method: 1.Combine all of the spices and divide into six sachets (or squares of cheesecloth, which you would then tie up with string) 2.Simmer the red wine with one spice sachet and sugar in a saucepan for about 20 minutes. Do not allow to boil! 3.Use remaining five spice sachets for gifts (remember to include heating instructions) or store in an airtight container for future batches of mulled wine or mulled apple cider. Interesting article about Whole Foods bringing in food from China. What gives?? How do we know its organic when the USDA does not inspect food from China. Whats with the small print on the back of your 365 packages? As much as the extra cost to shop at Whole Foods is, why not haveit come from our farmers in the USA??
