Love the music, but truly--Cinco de Mayo is not a celebratory holiday in Mexico.

We'll start off with some more traditional music (think Mariachi) and end the party with up-beat reggaton.

On Cinco de Mayo we will be listening to Sergio Vega's "El Shaka" and "Mariachi Autentico Mexicano" as we feast on hardwood charcoal grilled flank end cut short ribs and roasted jalapenos from Wholefoods and drink cheap Mexican beer. We would also LOVE to win the "Latin Party from Putumayo".

First, thank you for sharing background on Cinco de Mayo. When I speak with friends, neighbors, and new acquaintances there's always a confusion on what Cinco de Mayo means and the significance behind celebrating this day. This year I will be listening to a mix-match podge of music that puts my family and friends in dancing mode--everything from Hip hop, R&B, Jazz, to Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and the classics from the Golden Age of my father! Family, friends, food, and music--it's going to be a good day!

Cinco de Mayo will mark my son's (our middle child) 2nd Birthday. He likes fiddle music and jazz, and has recently taken to drums. We will probably be playing some of his favorites, but I bet he'd really like some latin rhythms to dance to as well.

For Cinco de Mayo I'll most likely put on Pandora and type in Bachata, merengue and salsa and see what comes up, so I'd definitely like to own some good latin music with the Latin Party! Thanks
