It has to be cinnamon. I use it in several dishes on Thanksgiving and it makes the house smell sooo good.

Because I am pulling together members of a newly blended family, along with precious friends, I am planning Thanksgiving on the Sunday before. This allows for everyone to share the holiday with the other sides of the family and hopefully, reduces stress on everyone. It also allows us to focus on the importance of the holiday - time spent with family and friends. So, I need chicken broth to make everyone's non-traditional favorite - chicken and dumplings!

For the holiday season an absolute must have for my pantry are organic cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger for alot of cooking and baking ideas. These four spices can really make a dish flavorful and fill the house with wonderful aroma while cooking and baking. Especially that pumpkin pie.

I always make my apple onion stuffing that is a family favorite. I need a lot of fresh herbs (and dried) apples, onion and celery. I save the ends of many kinds of bread in the freezer to chop up, so it always has a seed and nut flavor too.

We can not live without.... (drum roll please) the home made chicken stock I keep in our freezer each and everytime I make a whole chicken. Its perfection to our taste buds, and since I make it, I know I'm feeding my entire family something wholesome, nutritous, and I know EVERY SINGLE INGREDENT in it!
