I will buy a sturdy drying rack and put it on the balcony to air dry my clothes. The dryer is unnecessary in this beautiful South Florida climate and uses an incredible amount of power. Not to mention the added benefit of the best air freshener available!!!

I purchased thermos sports bottles for taking water everywhere we go. They keep it cold for a very long time.[We live in New Orleans where it's hot and humid a lot,and we're at the bottom of the Mississippi River so tap water isn't appealing.] I buy big containers of spring water for the fridge to fill them, which is cheaper and less waste than the little ones.

In honor of Earth Day this year, my husband and I are going to hook up a couple of water barrels to our gutters to collect rain water. We are then going to water our flower beds and wash our cars with it during the hot summer months. We live in the midwest and have only seen one water barrel!

My resolution is to avoid purchasing any bottled water or accepting any plastic bags. I will also be more mindful of my water and electricity usage. Happy Earth Day to everyone!

As my beauty products run out, I plan to buy organic as much as possible. So far, I've tried the new Physician's Formula Organic Mascara and Tom's toothpaste and am loving both. I've used Burt's Bees chapstick for years so I decided it's time to go organic for the rest of my personal/cosmetic products! Besides the environmental benefits, they are also healthier for my skin and body.

I am spawning my urban garden with herbs -- basil, cilantro. And I will be sharing with everyone, anybody who might also find the farmer inside.

I'm great at bringing my own shopping bags, but I'm going to make it a point to always have my own containers with me for leftovers at restaurants.

I plan to take a nice cloth bag with me when I shop, not only for groceries, but for everything else too. Have you ever noticed how many of those department/shoe store and assorted boutique paper shopping bags you come home with after a day in the city?

I want to get my office to recycle. I work in San Antonio and it seems like very few people recycle.........this makes me sad.

Hopefully weather-strip my townhome, have some of my townhome's community lights changed to more efficient ones (hopefully LEDs), eat more organic food, we have to buy some new appliances soon as our old ones are almost dead and we will be looking for an Energy Star replacement.

I am going to try my best to rid Monterey, CA of plastic grocery bags, by going to city council meetings, and I am going to find more ways to divert the waste for Monterey county that goes to landfills.

I am going to actually use the water bottle I recently bought instead of buying so many plastic, but very convenient, water bottles.

I brought in a trashcan on wheels to work and posted a list of every material that my home recycling service accepts. Every other Friday, I take home a full load of paper, plastic, cardboard, cans (steel and alum.) I didn't wait for our company to hire a service, I am the recycling service around here!

My GREEN resolution is to make all of my own earth-friendly home cleaning solutions and to share this knowledge with others by hosting "GREEN CLEANING PARTIES", where friends and friends of friends can come over and make the "recipes" to use in their homes as well.

I resolve to reuse the seemingly MILLIONS of little plastic bags that go into my little ones' lunch boxes. I will wash, dry and use them again (and again, hopefully). My five-year-old and I have ordered and put into use a cool little "drying rack" for this purpose. And he and his big brother (7) are already "on-board" and bringing home their baggies for Mommy to wash and reuse (I didn't even have to remind them once). This, instead of adding to the no-doubt mountain of baggies that go from kids' lunches right into trashcans and then landfills each and every day.

I will invesigate how I can get my apartment complex to have recycle bins so everything does not end up in the garbage. I am a renter and this frustates me very much. I will also take my expired medications to a drug store to dispose of them and to recycle paper and cut down on it's usage and to use cloth bags when shopping.

We are planting a 12x24 garden! We are so excited about it. We compost, only use cloth shopping bags, recycle everything. We are trying to start a recycle program at my kids school. Even my kids are earth friendly - we use washable everything for school lunches - down to their Sigg water bottles. we take out 1 bag of regular garbage from our home weekly! Everything else is reused, composted or recycled!
