My Earth Day resolution is to reduce my carbon footprint as much as possible. I contacted my electric utility to take advantage of their renewable energy program. I replaced the incandescent lightbulbs in my house with CFL bulbs. I recycle as much as I possibly can and there is no excuse since I live very close to two recycling centers as well as participating in my city's weekly recycling program. I have switched over to reusable shopping bags, water bottles and coffee mugs/cups. I am also making a resolution to use cloth kitchen towels rather than paper towels and have switched to single ply, recycled toilet paper (which took some getting used to...LOL!). I love my Mother (Earth). She's the only one we've got!

I am planning on growing my own organic garden outside of my house for one. I am also trying to increase awareness through our office on utilizing organic substances vs. chemicals for household cleaners to make-up. Baby steps, but it will all help for cleaner waste = cleaner soil = cleaner plants/air/animals/etc.

Bring our compost contributions to our local CSA farm; use reusable bags to store my gym laundry and shoes instead of the plastic bags supplied by the gym; stop buying bottled water and bring reusable bottles everywhere.

Camille Petrocelli: I already do lots of things to recycle and one that I really love is arts & crafts with things we normally throw away. Like envelopes that our bills come in can be cut into strips, rolled into paper beads and strung up for a cute necklace or bracelet and the patterned paper makes great card backgroundsor bookmarks. Magazine inserts can be punched out & make paper flowers used in collage or scrapbooks…paper rolls inside toliet paper or paper towels can make cute birdhouse (inside use only) just cut to size and put a cardboard roof on and decorate…plastic lids from food products are great for mixing paints, or putting a photo in for a cute frame,,,I think I save everything for future uses (arts & crafts and more). so many more ideas… check out my blog: http://camillescreations.blogspot.com

Resolved: Plant a victory garden. Support local farms, farm markets and stores like Whole Foods that do the same. Use cloth grocery bags. Encourage everyone I know to drink tap and avoid bottled water.

There are several things that have done to go green: 1)eating organic foods and patronizing local farmers; 2)no longer buying bottled water, but instead using a water filter and transporting my water in a reusable container; 3)Reusing pots/pans that were only used for something simple, before washing them; 4)Placing a recycling bin next to the trash can to ensure that I don't throw away things that I can recycle; 5)unplug all non-essential electronics/devices when not in use (i.e. cell phone charger) 6)use natural cleaning products 7)reuse glass containers from foods for storage/or drinking glasses

EARTH DAY will be celebrated by recycling all the trash that we will be picking up in the community. We always fill glass and pitchers with water and leave it to air out to get rid of the chemicals. Don't even need the commercial filters.

Wash our laundry in cold water and leave it to air dry. Receive all bills electronically. Use reusable bags, bottles, and use my own containers for takeout. Use cloth diapers more frequently and unplug all my cords when not in use. Also, walking to the stores, banks, and parks in lieu of driving.

We have only led off to apply an electric vehicle on some farming solid ground , which is 95 % created of recyclable product -.this was the first of many to get, I think. One minor outcome is the distance it can cover - but, when you cerebrate it is merely used on the farm, it has not been. Forced to a fault far over distance.I fully support all efforts to keep up, recycle and recycle - and it should be something that the whole nation.should be doing - NOW! .
