I pledge to not flush the toilet every time I go wee to use less water. Hopefully my roommate won't mind :) I am also investing in a CSA this summer - saving resources by buying straight from the farm!

Conserve electricity. Trying harder to make sure things are not left on in the house when we don't need/use them. We changed our bulbs years ago, but always forget to unplug the cell phone chargers. My daughter also always leaves her light on in her bedroom. So this year we are making an extra effort to remember to not waste energy.

In an effort to be more green, I bought reusable bags for my groceries and other purchases. Now my goal is to actually remember them each time I get out of the car and head into a store.

I am going to stop using plastic coffee cups when I buy at the coffee shop. Also, I will either walk or ride my bike to work at least three times a week.

With a three year old and a one year old in the house.. there seems to be a constant mess in my house! This year (and I am still working on it!) I decided to become more green by using cloth napkins. My children absolutely love using the napkins ( we store them at their level so they can grab them when they need them- and can also help to set the table!) While I know that I am doing more wash (and who wants that when you already have two children's clothing) I know that I am helping the environment by using less paper products and reusing cloth napkins. I think my entire family likes the change and besides a cloth napkin cleans much better and absorbs much more than paper napkins.

I am finally taking "the plunge" and after debating it for 4 years - and over many plates of steak, pork, salmon & sashimi - am going VEGAN! No meat or animal by-products of any kind (including eggs, cheese & animal milk). I'm in my second week and, although I ate my last medium-rare steak at Outback 15 days ago, have overcome the meat & seafood cravings I experienced the first few days. Now, meat doesn't even look apetizing. Only veggie sushi for me!

As a student, it's pretty hard to be eco-friendly @ school. The university I attend does not make it easily accessible to recycle. Therefore, I am making the conscious decision to bring home all my plastic bottles & recycle them from home. Also, whenever I print anything, I use small print & use both sides. It's not much, but it's something!

Earth Day reminds me of how lucky I am to be able to enjoy everything the planet has to offer. My resolution is to volunteer more for organizations that help the environement by cleaning the beaches and educating others of what they can do to help.

My goal as I work though my spring cleaning list, is to stop buying any more commercial cleaners as I use up the ones already in my cabinets. I don't like the thought of what I'm leaving on my surfaces, and in my air, as I "clean", so it's time to make a break from the name brands, and concentrate on what's better not only for my home, but also for the environment at large.

I am on a mission people! To save on paper waste in EVERY way possible: • I receive and pay most of my bills online to save paper • I am registered on the "do not mail" list & i cancelled a lot of my catalogs subscriptions • i only use recycled paper towels and bathroom tissue • I reuse and recycle all my office paper waste at home & work • I donate my magazines to hospital waiting rooms and thrift shops • I only buy recycled greeting cards and stationary • I only use reusable totes at the store • I hug trees :) Honestly i can say these changes were pretty simple, easy, and i enjoy not having piles of junk mail sitting around my house.

I only use CFL bulbs now, I recycle everything I can. I use tote bags at the grocery store. My husband and I do not have jobs that we need to drive to work, so we're saving gas money and saving on emissions! This week, in honor of Earth Day coming up and in honor of my health, animals and the earth, I have gone vegan. Yes, not just vegetarian, but vegan. I figure if I'm not going to eat animals, I shouldn't eat anything else that comes from them. This will be a challenge, as my husband thinks I have lost my mind, but I am hoping to help him see the light by my actions and how healthy I become!

i'm trying to be more conscientious about our lighting (have switched to flourescents and cfl's) and trying to go as paperless as we can. This is at home and at our office.

I always have iTunes on my computer when I leave my apartment, still playing songs when I'm not at home. I should turn it off or put the computer in sleep mode. I do sometimes/rarely remember but I should make an effort to.

I am already doing a lot, naturally, coming from a third world country, it is easy for me. I am trying and will try more to just talk about being greener to anyone in my circle of friends, just starting with little things, purchasing habits, water usage, chemical free living, pesticides free vegetables and fruit, .. you will be surprised at how many people you can convince to change for a healthy planet!! Eat less and better, it is easy!

I am going to start walking everywhere I need to go in San Francisco proper. I live in the exact middle of a city which is only 7 X & miles, there's no reason to drive or even use the bus to get anywhere...save on carbon emitions and a great way to get exercise and actually see what my city has to offer

After successfully sticking to our New Year's resolution of eliminating plastic water bottles, our family has decided to stop using paper towels. For me it has only been tough in terms of cleaning, but I'm committed to the change & challenge! :)

My green resolution is to replace every light bulb in my house with compact fluorescent bulbs. I won't run the water when I'm brushing my teeth or washing the dishes. I will support local farms to minimize the distance my food travels, and try to eat all natural and organic foods to prevent myself and my family from eating harmful substances.

I will be remembering to keep my re-useable bags in the car and I will be bringing back the ton of WF bags I have back to my local store so they can be reused. To those of you using the CFL lightbulbs - just be aware that they contain mercury. So you need to be sure not to break one and dispose of them properly.
