My green resolution and commitment is to start using environmentally-friendly cleaning products for our house and clothes washing. I'll also promote this switch to family and friends - it's easy to do and not expensive! Vinegar anyone?

I resolve to compost! Growing up with hippie parents I dreaded the long walk to the compost pile after meals. Today as an adult with two children of my own,a new home and plans for an organic garden I really appreciate what composting is all about. Just goes to show you values do rub off on our kids even if they don't know it at the time! :)

My office shreds EVERYTHING. Our new green resolution is to separate shredding necessities from recycling and then take that paper to the school's recycling bin across the street. We also cut off the ends of folders to turn them into letter size folders. One girl in the office started keeping these cut off ends and using them in her youth church group to make the bottom bands of the hats they make for every major event--the kids like the colors and she's saving paper!

I am not a coffee drinker, but I love chocolate. My resolution is to have a travel cup always with me, so I can enjoy my hot chocolates without adding more cups to the fields, even if I am a recycle maniac, recycle takes a lot from our beautiful planet to be processed. Next time I do my grocery in whole foods, I will take my cup to enjoy my regular hot chocolate.

Unfortunately our apartment complex is one of the few in Austin that doesn't recycle. So we've been collecting all our recyclables & my boyfriend takes them to work with him, where they DO recycle. :)

My New Year's resolution was to drink more water. My Earth Day resolution is to eliminate my use of plastic water bottles. I will definitely need some ideas on great non-metal water bottles to help me get through this.

I am starting a recycling program at my new office with staff of 7, to include: paper, aluminum, glass, plastic and steel. I recycle at home for myself, and think that my coworkers will be amazed at the amount of recyclable materials 7 people are able to prevent from ending up in landfills!

I have stopped using paper towels. I used to grab a paper towel for almost everything. I had a drawer full of kitchen towels that were sitting there. Now I use the kitchen towels and no longer purchase paper towels.

Use my canvas shopping bags and ban plastic bags from our lives! My 4 year old son loves his "a good earth is hard to find" canvas bag...remember small measures by all can have a HUGE impact.

I am already doing a lot, because of where I come from, it is easy for me to be green, that is the way it was.. so I talk to my family and friends about being green and why it is important. Hopefully they will make some changes too and also convince more people to do so..

I resolve to look in several neighbor states for green communities where my husband and I can retire. The area where we now live is not as eco-friendly as we desire and we both want to be among people with whom we can join with a fun and assertive attitude toward making this a finer Earth to live upon!!
