Some meals have the power to take you away to faraway places without ever having to leave the comfort of your seat at the table.

In the latest issue of The Whole Deal value guide we have a week’s worth of meal ideas to take you on virtual getaways without the bill getting away from you. Here’s the plan:

MONDAY: Feast of the Fields Load your fork with summer greens without forking over too much green with an entrée salad (we’ve got lots of ideas here) and a fresh baguette. End the meal with a fruit tart (print the coupon!) or strawberries dipped in melted Whole Trade™ chocolate. Try your hand at homemade lemonade or limemade too.

TUESDAY: Grillin’ on the Ranch Howdy big savings! Enjoy Big Blue Burgers with Cherry Mustard and grilled asparagus sprinkled with our organic lemon juice (a Sure Deal). You can even pour GroundSwell California Wine (another Sure Deal) for the older dudes and dudettes without breakin’ a sweat.

WEDNESDAY: South of the Border Fiesta Set out tortilla chips and guacamole to get the party started. Your Grilled Salsa Drumsticks, greens, beans and rice will have guests staying at the table for more. Grilled mangoes and a scoop of 365 Everyday Value® Vanilla Ice Cream round out this fun evening fest.

THURSDAY: Cook’s Mini-Vacay Let the house chef take a break by picking up a rotisserie chicken and Black Bean Quinoa Salad from our Prepared Foods area.

Pair with a lightly dressed green salad and set out fresh cherries for dessert.

FRIDAY: Pacific Northwest Escape A bright mixture of strawberries, kiwi and cucumber pairs nicely with the rich flavor of fish in this Baked Salmon with Spinach and Strawberry Salsa dish.

Serve with organic brown rice. (Try 365 Everyday Value® frozen — ready in 2 minutes for a quick getaway!)

WEEKEND: Mom & Pop’s B&B Holiday Whether it’s Mother’s Day or Father’s Day or just another day, give them a break by bring them a tray with Gluten-Free Baked Berry French Toast, coffee or tea and 365 Everyday Value® Organic Orange Juice (yup, a Sure Deal).

Remember to pick up Whole Trade® flowers to complete the treat. For more warm-weather recipes that won’t freeze your accounts turn to the The Whole Deal value guide. With more than a dozen Sure Deals, 9 new budget recipes and coupons galore, your trip to the store can be a vacation from overspending.

What budget-friendly meals are you cooking up this month? We’d love to know.
