I like that Whole Foods has screened their products to make sure that they are really "natural" so I don't have to guess.

Whoa! Have I ever been enlightened! As you said, it is critical to use organic products on babies skin, leaving out the artifial stuff, like colors. I also like the fact this business is based on knowledge and passion. Great podcast and thank you.

thanks for the info

As far as I'm concerned, it's all about providing the absolute best for your newborn. The common argument is that, "we didn't have all natural products growing up and we turned out ok." But the truth is, there probably weren't as many chemicals and pesticides being used as there are now. Bottom line, if it's all natural you can rest assured that it's the best thing for your baby. I'm so glad that more companies like Whole Foods are starting to carry multiple options in the way of natural care. Thanks Whole Foods for making it more convenient then ever to have a green baby!

Miss Jules says …

I hope more stores catch on to this green 'trend' soon.

Tracy-Lynne says …

We don't have a Whole Foods in OK which is disappointing. I hope to use more natural products on my baby if I can find them.

This podcast was very interesting. Thanks for the helpful information!

Thanks again for making sure that great products, made by conscientious parents are available nationwide. I have long relied on California Baby and Weleda for safe products, and as you introduce new lines, I always carefully read ingredients, open caps and sniff, try the testers, etc. I would love if you would use your national-chain clout with Earth's Best and get them to resume manufacturing Tushies diapers, keep them gel-free, and in the US. Or better yet, maybe Brand 365 can buy that factory, and become the exclusive supplier of gel-free diapers. That would be FABULOUS!

I found out about this podcast on www.jollymom.com. Thank you for this great information! Since the birth of my first baby, ten years ago, I have been looking to Whole Foods, specifically the California Baby and Weleda products, to ensure that I only use the safest products for my baby. I am very happy to see that Whole Foods is providing an incentive to its vendors to not only list ingredients but disclose what they are, as well as to use truly safe and natural ingredients. I really hope I win the sling full of goodies, because the prizes are things I would actually buy and use with my children. Thank you!

We are big fans of Whole Foods and all their wonderful products! Our favorite line for baby's, and our own skin, is Burt's Bee's. It is so wonderful to have a store like Whole Foods to carry "real" natural skin care products. We just wish there was one closer to us!

Me and hubby are expecting baby #1 this summer and I plan to make Whole Foods our destination for natural baby products because I trust that they only stock their shelves with real organic items

I shop at Whole Foods and am expecting our 3rd child - after a 9 year break! I havne't even thought about all natural baby products - though I have thought about the cleaners I use at home. I can't wait to get up to my local store and check out the whole line!

Great information! It is so important to me that my family avoid using petroleum-based products on their skin. Not to mention chemical "fragrance" and other unnecessary and potentially dangerous additives. I, too, scrutinize the labels of everything I buy. Thanks for making my shopping for us and our baby safer and easier!

Deirdre says …

my 9m has such dry pale skin - glad to know there is a line of products that is actually natural!

I am always on the lookout for safe products for my kids.

I feel confident that shopping at WFM is the best choice for me and my baby. When looking at the different options and all of the "no-no's" in all products, let alone the ones for our most important families, it is nice to know that you can trust someone else to do all the homework. Thank you.

As a mom of a baby who has sensitive skin I am so glad that whole food is doing all they can to promote the real "natural" skin products this gives me a lot of reassurance that I can rely on whole food for my purchases, thanks the podcast was very informative.

My little guy has very sensitive skin. I am always looking for products that will help NOT irritate.

Lily Kwan says …

I loved this podcast! Can't wait to hear more!

I think it is great that Whole Foods takes the time to evaluate products to verify that they are indeed natural rather than just taking the mfg. word for it. It shows me that they care about their products and stand behind what they sell. I have a grandbaby coming in May, and while I don't have a Whole Foods near me-I do travel several times a month to where there is a store-and I will be sure to stock up on natural baby goods while there!

JOYCE says …

It's so nice to hear this coming from a father...usually, I see mothers concerned about making sure their baby gets all natural products. I love browsing the baby "skin care" section. Hopefully, one day, daddy will enjoy it just as much!

Beth says …

We should always take caution with what we put on our own skin let alone our young child's. Recently I discovered the products offered by WF and I am very impressed. Thank you.

TAMMY LANIER says …

I AM SO THANKFUL AS A MOTHER OF 5 THAT YOU GUYS HAVE TAKEN "ORGANIC" TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL FOR OUR CHILDREN!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Barbara Platt says …

I never thought about so many products being bad for my baby's skin. Natural is the way to go. Thanks

Nicole Steele says …

My children have such sensitive skin and tummies, natural is the only way we can go!

Michelle says …

I'm looking for a natural product to soothe and moisturize my toddler's sensitive skin. I wish Whole Foods was closer to us, but we make a whole day of our trip a few towns over. :o)

Hooray for Whole Foods' line of natural baby items. One more reason to shop there. Thanks to WF for making this commitment!

Jessica Whited says …

I have two babies in diapers and am delighted to know that there are products that are actually made with natural ingredients! Thank you!

Liz says …

I never thought about the fact that what goes on the baby, may go in the baby too. But of course. I have always been a fan of organic, but until this, did not take it's importance to the level of clothing too. There is a new whole foods in my neighborhood - now I need them to expand the baby offerings! tHANKS.

Carrie says …

I love that your standards for natural are much higher than the general industry standards! Babies deserve the best and most natural products.

Jess says …

I'm here from www.jollymom.com. I think babies need the very best for their skins and I'm glad you are taking care of them.

I am here from www.mudpiesandmaryjanes.blogspot.com/ and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to view your video! I have a beautiful 6 month old daughter and taking care of her is the most important aspect of my life right now. I realized today after watching your video that I need to become a much more educated and aware consumer about what products I use with my baby and learning how to read the labels to insure that I am only putting safe products with natural organics ingredients on her and in her. I am learning that not only are the ingredients in a product critical but also the process for which the products are manufactured and the standards and procedures that are followed. Thank you so much for making me so much more aware of what I should be looking out for when I shop for my baby.

I have a pug dog that LOVES the small rubber ducks from Whole Foods. A friend used to buy them for me. Now I no longer work with her and my pug is on his last one....we have gone through many. He does NOT like the texture of the myriad of ones I have bought elsewhere. I recently found one in a Christmas box after a year or more and he is glued to it. Unfortunately the head is about to fall off. Has anyone seen one recently????

I use almond oil to massage my baby and for hair I use coconut oil. Also, you can use almond oil for yourself as well. Almond oil has a natural bleech agent. It gives your skin narishment and shine natural way. You don't need to use any kind of lotion after that.

April says …

Can you register for your baby at Whole Foods?

Bepkom says …

@April: Some stores offer that service. Please check in with your local store directly.

I am so happy to see so many new all natural baby products. As a nurse I have given medications via ointment on the skin that absorbs into the blood and can do almost any action that its counterpart "oral meds" can do...I always wondered if we gave these medications via the skin and it has the same affect as oral, well doesn't everything we put on our skin get absorbed??? Yes what goes ON the baby goes IN the baby! I am here from Baby Blast- All natural flavored Binky Spray. Thanks for your great products at Whole Foods Market!

Jan Rider says …

I have a new born with sensitive skin and I heard of one that has goat milk in it?

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@JAN - I would encourage you to reach out to your local store to see if they carry a goat milk option for babies. Our products vary between locations so they will be able to let you know what they have in stock. You can find a list of contact info at http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/list.
