Very interesting... I will try lavender oil along with aloe vera for sunburns. I've used aloe vera for a while but have never added lavender oil.

The B vitamin was news to me. I didn't know it was possible to change the way we "taste" to bugs. Thanks!

Thank you for the information, I had not thought of most of these remedies. Peppermint oil and lavender oil will be added to my list along with aloe gel. Not sure about using witch hazel; will need to get more info on that. Thanks again!

Hi folks, so great to see all of these natural remedies for summertime issues. I had to jump in because I have two kids and they are always getting scrapes, stings, rashes - and the calendula ointment works like a charm in my house...we call it the "magic cream". Stay tuned for next month, we are talking natural salon and I got to go to NYC to get tips from John Masters about what natural ingredients to look for in your hair care. Mara

While in Bermuda, I suffered a very painful, "surprise" sunburn. I was given an Aloe leaf by a hotel employee. It was miraculous. Nature always seems to "know best"

I love using a pureed cucumber to soothe sunburn, it works instantly! I've also found that a piece of raw onion takes the sting/itch out of bug bites, the enzymes help to break down the compounds that cause itching and pain.
