I enjoy all types of Blues ... some favs are Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, old school such as Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters and then local blues artists like Trampled Under Foot. Would be fantastic to add some world blues to my collection.

I was introduced to many blues artists by the British R&B bands who copied them in the 60s and 70s, but who also introduced them to a wider audience, especially in North America, where many of them were almost unknown.

I grew up loving the Blues ever since watching the original Blues Brothers movie. I was also lucky enough to catch BB King and Keb Mo live in the last few years.

Like the blues? How about Bonnie Raitt's new album-Bonnie's slide, Bill Frisells magic guitar, Greg Lietz' genius instrumental and all playing Bob from Time Out of Mind-Blues.

I love Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, who have a blue grass feel with blues/jazz undertones. Also, I'm a fan of the Putumayo series, especially the Women of the World and the Americana CDs.

Music is my life! Were it not for music, I'd be (more of) a nutcase.....{:> Putamayo has long been a favorite label. Their "Mali to Memphis" is outstanding! I don't know how they do it, but they find the most wonderful (& sometimes unusual) music and fuse them together beautifully & seamlessly. It would be an honor to add this set to my collection. Know music, know life. No music, No life

I used to hear John Mayall and The Blues Breakers, Buddy Guy, in the Village when I was a kid. Love all the Blues.....Blues is a feeling. When Taj Mahal dissed The Chambers Bros. back in MS when they were all sharecroppers kids, because they only had one pr of shoes amongst them...well, I'm sure that gave them the Blues...but they might not have been too proud to say it....but you listen to their early gospel renditions...and you can hear them singing it. Kudos for starting Putamayo records.

It used to be all Etta, but life changes and now it's more the swingy-swing blues. But it's all good!

I've been playing guitar for years, and really love flamenco. Then I decided to try to learn blues. I figured it's like flamenco in that it's an improvised form that's expressive and connected to the lament of a particular culture. I failed at it. Abysmally. That failure should inspire me to sing the blues. haha So I stick to listening to Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter, Etta James, and also the modern interpretations of blues like early Rolling Stones and SRV. Thanks, this is a cool contest!

I love the blues. Music from around the world would make for a well rounded addition to my collection. I also like the fact that the sales pay it forward.
