Sheryl Crow + Whole Foods Market + NRDC = A Better Bag

We have a really cool new bag coming out! You’ve probably seen our large grocery tote bags made from recycled plastic bottles for only 99 cents. Our customers have given us great feedback on them. When it came time to design a new bag, we wanted to make it even better. We came up with several ideas and these two rose to the top: 1. generate public interest in reusable bags by getting an environmentally conscious celebrity to help design the bag and 2. highlight a strong environmental program on the bag that is helping to change our world. Done and done. Sheryl Crow collaborated with us on the design of the bag. Didn’t it turn out great?

The Natural Resources Defense Council promotes a great program called Simple Steps. In addition to our monetary donation to the NRDC, each bag has the SimpleSteps.org website printed on it, which encourages customers to embrace simple steps in their everyday lives that reduce consumption and consider the environment. Since it is gift-giving season, the bags are available in the large grocery tote size and also in a smaller, gift bag size for only 79 cents. Check ‘em out and let us know what you think. When we sell through this run of bags, we’ll be designing the next version. What ideas do you have for taking these to the next level?

@Jennifer: Unfortunately we are no longer producing our Better Bags with Sheryl Crow’s design. However, please check with your local stores to see if they still have some of the larger size in stock.

@Tabitha Our Private Label team takes care of the ordering of these bags. Unfortunately, we're all sold out of the Sheryl Crow bags but do have new designs of reusable bags available in different sizes at every store. Whole Foods Market actually has a confidentiality agreement with the suppliers of these bags but that doesn't change how cool they are. Thanks for your support!

@Sonia Gosh Sonia, that stinks. You know we put those out such a long time ago, it's not likely that any store has stock of them left over. :/ We do have a bunch of cool designs out currently and are expecting a new season of bag designs before too long. Perhaps you can find a new bag that you may love just as much. Good luck in your hunt!

In Dec 2011 many kids in the Amazon rain forest of Ecuador were excited to receive - for the first time ever - a Christmas gift. Each child was given a "I LOVE MY HOME PLANET EARTH" bag, filled with colored pencils, books, Christmas Candies, and most of all, with a message; the importance of recycling and the need to protect their 'back yard' - the area where they live, our Amazon Jungle. The bags were purchased from my local Wholefoods store in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. one month - one bag. Every effort was worth it when I saw a beautiful smile coming out of of those gorgeous faces.

I have a Sheryl Crown "a better bag" - whole foods - I love my home planet earth bag. It is worn and used. I went back to Whole Foods and they no longer carry the bag. Do you have any of these bags? If so, I'd like to recycle mine and get another one. Thanks. ~Patti

@Patti We sold out of the Sheryl Crow bags long ago. We do carry new earth friendly bags at every store, however. Please feel free to pick up a new bag.

@CRYSTAL Unfortunately we sold out of these bags quite a while ago. We release new designs multiple times a year, so I hope you find one you like!
