Sneak Peek at New Stuff in Stores Now!

Sometimes I get into a routine: I have my shopping list, I know what I need and I go directly to those items on the shelves. I bet some of you do that too. When we do that, though, how the heck are we going to find out about new products that might be the perfect missing link to a fabulous meal? Well, I’m in a special situation. Since I work at the global office for Whole Foods Market, I get sneak peeks from our purchasing team on new and exclusive products coming up. And, as a reader of the Whole Story blog, you are in a special situation too, because I’m going to share those sneak peeks with you! Without further ado, here is some of the great new stuff you’ll find in our stores in August. (For a bonus, I included some stuff that hit the stores in July!):

Green Valley Organic Lactose Free Yogurt and Kefir – currently available only at Whole Foods Market

Organicville Pasta Sauce — organic, gluten-free sauces from a family-owned business

Lisa says …

Oooh, so excited for the almond milk! Hope it comes in unsweetened... Thank you!

Diana says …

very happy to see the lactose free yoghurt. I'm really hoping it will be in our whole foods.

CD says …

Now you need the Drink Skinny Margarita Mix, sweetened with agave nectar! Bring it to the west coast! Are the 365 soy milk and almond milk made on the same equipment like Silk is doing now? This is a big problem for allergy kids like my daughter!

Cool stuff!!

We got the Organicville portabella pasta sauce is great! I had no idea Earth Balance was making organic soymilk, but now I'm excited for it :-)

I love that strawberry flavored Kefir, but the pomegranate one is nice too. If you read the label, the pink color of the strawberry Kefir is from red beet juice. How clever of them! It's very good for your health also. I found Tikka Masala in a jar in an Indian store or the health food store. I tried it on skinned chicken thighs, covered it and baked it. It's good and good for you. Yum! Many eastern things don't always appeal to the western taste buds. Add some ground turmeric to the rice water or to the Tikka Masala for extra nutritional value. Small pieces of dried wakame (sea weed) add a lot of nutritional value to a dish and you probably won't even notice that it's in there.

Love that Glutino pizza wll be available in a multi-pack and that you have 365 Almond Milk. Now I wish you would carry Joan's Gluten-free products- they are awesome!!

Lucy Ackerman says …

Please check out Clean Cravings Gluten Free products!! They are the best out there - not as many ingredients and fillers as Glutino and great flavor. www.cleancravings.com Have a great day!!

Dawn says …

Yes! So happy to have the 365 unsweetened almond milk.

erdos says …

I'm glad that you are adding another lactose free yogurt and kefir.

Mark says …

I just started buying the WFM Unsweetened Soymilk instead of Silk's version. It's just as good and less expensive! Yay!

Tony Holiday says …

Thanks! I love finding out about new products. I like when they're also able to be placed out in the open, with a sign that they're new additions, so people entering the store can instantly see examples of the new items. I've already tried two of these new things because of this. If they are just placed on the shelves and nothing is said about them, many people won't notice them who might otherwise want to try them.

Alexandra says …

Will Whole Foods be selling the new Larabar flavors soon? They came out in July!

Jan Butner says …

Thanks for continuing to increase the number of gluten free items that you carry!!!!

Adam says …

@Alexandra - the new Larabars are at some locations, I've seen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Carrot Cake.. I know there's also Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip but haven't seen it on the shelves yet, but I would imagine certain locations will have it also @Annie Ross - i haven't seen a nonfat, but there is a "Lite" 365 Soymilk @Michele Hegedus - the Tofurky pizzas are on the shelves at select locations, they just started coming in

We have been supplying the seafood departments of the Southern and North Atlantic regions with our Vermont Country Grillstone - it has been really well received! It is a natural stone flat grilling surface that you can use directly over your gas flame, charcoal grill, or an open fire - best is you can grill a tender fish fillet or whole fish without loosing it into the fire. It is healthier also, since it holds the marinade on the surface and prevents combustion in the fire - the marinade caramelizes for a super taste. Anyway, I am enthusiastic about the Grillstone, the quality of the product supplied by Whole Foods Seafood Departments, and the wonderful people that we have been dealing with in those regions. THANK YOU!

I just found the 365 Organic Almondmilk last week, and I was so excited! Not only is it less expensive, it is organic, unlike the other brand I had been buying. I always look for and buy the 365 brand whenever possible. Thank you!

Adam says …

So excited about the 365 Almond Milk.. my store has the shelf stable cartons already, but I'm waiting on the refrigerated version.. I usually buy Almond Breeze, which isn't organic, so to have an organic almond milk at the same price point is great :)

Linda Germanetti says …

I am gluten intolerant and also food sensitive to soy, corn and dairy. Your KIND Bars are awesome and I no longer have to search for a bar I can tolerate. THANK YOU!

Jacquelyn Keys says …

Can't wait to try the new cocoa and cinnamon Kettlecorn!

sally says …

The cinnamon sugar popcorn tastes okay but it is expensive for popcorn. I will not be purchasing it again.

Ava Paracsi says …

Have tried the Green Valley plain yogurt and find it tastes better than the other plain yogurt in that the taste is not as tart-also very few grams of sugar which is great for those watching sugar intake. Use it with cinnamon for a great snack and treat!!!!

Annie Ross says …

How about some nonfat and low fat choices? Also interested in items that have a lower salt content. A lot of your food is not healthy when the fat and salt content are considered. It may taste great but it's not really a great choice for your health. Your soy milks do not come in nonfat choices as the larger brands do and your store brands of bread contain copious amounts of salt but some of the brands you no longer carry to make room for your own brand have much less salt. Many thanks...

Monya Scherzer says …

I LOVE that you're sending out an email announcing "new stuff." I, too, tend to go into my Whole Foods and just get what's on my list (with the addition of a few impulse items). Keep it up!!!!

pam (pamcakes and eggs) says …

I've seen the EVOL burritos at other stores than Whole Foods. Maybe you guys have a special flavor?

Micky says …

I'm so happy that my Monterey, CA store is now carrying Daiya!! Thank you!

Michele Hegedus says …

Will you carry the new Tofurky vegan pizzas? I shop at Whole Foods in San Diego, and have not seen them there. Thanks very much for all the wonderful vegan items you do carry.

Vanessa says …

Farhan Memon says …

The addition of Saffron Road is amazing. I have been waiting for hi quality halal entrees for years. Another reason to shop Whole Foods. Impeccable timing on getting it out in time for Ramadan.

Thank you so much for adding the Saffron Road items to the frozen entreés selection. Having Halal options at Whole Foods will ensure I keep coming back again and again.

Thank you for bringing Organic Halal products like the Saffron Road line. I hope to see Organic Halal meat and poultry from Whole Foods too. It is the epitome of healthy, humane and environmentally conscious choice! I'm telling everybody to support this!

W.B. Abdullah says …

Dr. Fatima Malik says …

I can't wait to try your saffron road entrees.

Tasneem M says …

Thank you very much for including halal entree items from Saffron Foods. It would be great if Whole Foods could also carry halal meat, poultry and fish. Thanks again!

Ursala says …

Thank you for carrying HALAL products. Whole Foods is my number one choice for produce and all! My only gripe is that the nearest store is about 20 miles away!! Consider opening a store in North Orange County,California. In the Fullerton, La Habra area. I'm PTA President at my son's school. It comes up time and time again at PTA meetings that we all wish for a Whole Foods near us! Or a Trader Joe's. So, here is a huge market waiting for a store. Liked the lunch box school reminder on healthier choices for lunch.

Maria says …

Finally! Halal organic foods yummm! Thank you for taking the chance in providing this :) Very much appreciated!

HB says …

Thank you, Wholefoods, for providing halal foods. I'm looking forward to my next shopping trip to Wholefoods!! I can't wait to share the news with my friends and family.

Inaya Shujaat says …

Please bring Saffron Road halal entrees to the Whole Foods in Jacksonville, FL.

Abu Bakr A.A. says …

Peace and blessings. What a win-win situation! The best quality of meat & ingregients possible teaming up with one of, if not the best, organic/natural market chains around! Now, what would truly make this a continuous winning Dynasty, would be to have Halal/Zabihah/Tayyib meat and poultry there as well. But, you have to crawl before you can walk. Cathy Dill says …

Do you know of a gluten free tofurky

paig292 says …

@Cathy Cathy, Unfortunately, tofurkey does not come in a gluten-free form. For those eating a gluten-free vegetarian diet, we suggest serving a loaf with vegan gravy for a holiday entrée. Here are a couple of suggestions for you: Celebration Lentil Loaf http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/2808 Quinoa Loaf http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/2672 We have an extensive selection of gluten-free holiday recipes here: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/holidays/recipes/glutenfree.php Many of these are vegetarian as well. I think these make a wonderfully celebratory presentation: Wild Rice Stuffed Mini Pumpkins Hope this helps!

Asma says …

Halal frozen meals ... now we are talking. Halal meat just tastes better. Thank you Whole Foods for introducing these and I hope you get more halal products in the store.
