Some Super Snacks + a GoodBelly

By Allison Burch, January 28, 2011  |  Meet the Blogger  |  More Posts by Allison Burch

I have a confession to make. A really big-deal football game is coming up soon and I have no idea who’s playing. This is especially embarrassing since I live in Texas (football is HUGE here) and the big game is in Dallas this year. However, just because I don’t follow the game doesn’t mean I won’t be tuned in to my TV come that fateful first Sunday in February. Hey, it’s a cultural phenomenon! Plus, the game is a great excuse to get together with friends, whoop and holler (I usually cheer for whoever has the ball at the moment) and eat snacks for hours on end. Keep reading for a chance to win a little GoodBelly goody. This year, we’re going to have a few people over and I plan on making either this great turkey chili or these stuffed potato skins and a big bowl of guacamole. I also like to have a bunch of easy snacks on the side and here are a few new products that I’m super-excited to add to my lineup: evol Mini Burritos

  • Made-from-scratch mini burritos with less than 190 calories each
  • Fresh ingredients all wrapped up in a traditionally made tortilla
  • Cheese from the milk of cows not treated with rBST
  • Free-range chicken and beef from cattle raised without antibiotics and added growth hormones
  • Make a party tray with a selection of all the flavors: Chicken, Bean & Rice, Veggie Fajita, Chicken & Black Bean and Shredded Beef

Family-Sized Veggie Pirate’s Booty

  • Re-sealable 10-oz, family-sized bag sold exclusively at Whole Foods Market®
  • Baked rice and corn puffs with a deceivingly delicious blend of spinach, kale, cabbage, carrots and broccoli
  • Gluten free and trans-fat free

Laurel Hill Kettle Cooked Potato Chips

  • A Whole Foods Market® exclusive!
  • Kettle cooked in small batches which makes for a big crunch
  • Gluten free and made with no preservatives and no trans fats
  • A tasty selection of flavors—Sea Salt, Sea Salt & Malt Vinegar, Jalapeno, Sea Salt (40% Reduced Fat), Barbeque (40% Reduced Fat) and Cracked Black Pepper (40% Reduced Fat)

Another confession…I’m not a huge snacker in my everyday life. So, after an evening of munching and crunching my way through an entire football game, I’m sure my belly will be asking for a break! That’s why I plan to be prepared with these new GoodBelly Probiotic Drinks. You could even give the “shots” to your guests as “party favors” on their way out. GoodBelly Probiotic Fruit Juice Drinks

  • Dairy free, soy free and vegan
  • Uses a base of organic fruit juices rather than yogurt
  • Contains 20 billion live and active cultures per serving (at time of manufacture)
  • Uses their patented probiotic culture, Lp299v
  • Look for super specials in your store on: GoodBelly Plus Shots, GoodBelly Splash (in grab and go bottles) and GoodBelly Family-Sized Quarts

In fact, the good folks at GoodBelly are giving away a cute cotton tote bag and a VIP coupon so you can try a GoodBelly product on the house. To enter the giveaway just leave a comment below by Friday, February 4th and we’ll pick ten winners at random. So tell me, which team should I cheer for and why?

Good Belly is my favorite new drink. I am vegan who likes to eat out a lot, but everything is not quite as "vegan kosher" as I would like, so there is always GoodBelly to the rescue! I need to see if I can buy stock in the company.

Do as I do and cheer for the commercials! It can also be cool to see a phenomenal play from the athletes. But, it sounds like you are keeping your friends and family healthy by finding nutricious recipes they will like....cheer for yourself!!!!

The Green Bay Packers should and will win this game. They come from land of milk and CHEESE (cheeseheads) and gorgeous lakes full of delicious white fish. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, has Primanti's Restaurant as a huge draw - where 3" thick sandwiches have french fries on them! I'm going with healthy!!!!

I think you should root for the Green Bay Packers! Why you ask? Well I am originally from Minnesota, so they are rivals, but you have to root for a team that can play outside in that kind of weather!

I like to watch football. I don't really have a favorite team. I'm like my son, I have favorite players on different teams. So I say cheer for the moment, the great play, the fans, the food, the Super Bowl! And the next day...cheer for the Goodbelly!

I'm not a football fan, but I'd suggest going with the Green Bay Packers because they haven't won the Super Bowl as many times as the Pittsburg Steelers.

You need to vote for Pittsburg. The reason is simple...my husband said so. And most importantly because my family has belly aches. My son has many food intolerances and I heard this drink helps.
