This holiday season, we’re so excited to introduce you to our Top Ten Holiday Wines that we’re throwing a tasting party for our wine-loving friends all over the country! You don’t have to worry about what to wear or even what to bring. In fact, all you need to do is uncork, pour and ….. tweet. You and six of our Top Ten wines are invited to Whole Foods Market’s first-ever Twitter Tasting on Wednesday, November 17. Join us from 7 to 8pm ET (6pm Central, 5 pm Mountain or 4pm Pacific) to taste and tweet! We’ll be there to share our stories of these holiday-perfect wines and see what you think. So how does a Twitter Tasting work? It’s easy and ever so tasty! Pick up one or more of the six Top Ten Holiday Wines that we will feature during the tasting. Even better – get some friends together to join the fun and have everyone bring a bottle to share as well as some wine-friendly snacks such as the amazing holiday-licious cheeses we’ve paired to complement these top-notch wines at easy-to-swallow prices – all under $15 a bottle! We’ve searched the world to find the best wines at amazing prizes for your enjoyment this holiday season, and we’re looking forward to tweeting and tasting them with you. The wines we’ll feature during the Twitter Tasting include:

• De Chanceney Crémant de Loire, a tremendous value in a fresh, French bubbly
• Römerhof Riesling, an award-winning white from a German family with 400 years of wine history
• Simonette Febvre Saint-Bris Sauvignon, a gently tangy, aromatic and fresh white wine
• Dievole Dievolino Sangiovese di Toscana, a lively ruby red wine that’s true to its Tuscan roots with a note of fragrant juniper
• Valley of the Moon Syrah, a soft and silky California red
• Paso a Paso Tempranillo, made with organically grown grapes, intensely floral with huge flavor

To guide you in the tasting, we’ve designed a Top 10 Holiday Wines Twitter Tasting sheet so before the tasting begins, print out the tasting sheet so you can make notes about your favorites. So you’ve got your wines, opened them up and set out your glasses. Now, get online. You can send and receive Twitter messages, or tweets, equally well from your desktop, laptop or your mobile phone. If you don’t have a Twitter account, it’s free and easy. Sign up for your own Twitter account at www.twitter.com. Next, follow the conversation by going to the TweetChat room set up for this event. It’s free and no registration is required.  There, you can tweet directly from TweetChat. When the Twitter Tasting starts, pour the first wine and we (the Wine Guys: Whole Foods Market national wine buyers Geof Ryan and Doug Bell) will tell you a bit about the wines and our thoughts on taste profiles, pairing and more.
