Sspeaking on behalf of my customers and myself. Our food chain is already polluted enough. People are becoming more and more weary about the foods they put in their bodies. This should not be allowed in organics.

This has to do with Round-up resistant alfalfa and weed control and profits. If alfalfa can live even after covered in Round-up the the chances are, more Round up will be used and sold by Monsanto. In 2005 it was Roundup resistant Alfalfa was rolled out and planted then stopped by a suit over lack of testing. Monsanto tested it and now wants it approved by the USDA. This is the first time this kind of review has been done and may set the standard for future GE product approval. According to the summery findings in Monsantos tests, GE alfalfas approval could result in in larger crops yields, profits, etc. and... only one type of frog may be affected by the run off. Additionally there could be some crop contamination to possible neighboring farms organic or not but if it is unintentional then no one is held accountable. If I am a farmer in Egypt trying to farm, then chemicals may help me out, but for farmers in the richest country in the world with the best soil in the world to feel they need this is absurd. Nevermind the some of the world won't buy or crops because they are full of goop. Given the state of our oceans another farming practic that encourages chemical use just irresponsible. Please email or write to the USDA on this topic. They are taking this to four Alfalfa growers conferences for comment and check out Monsatos blog/site on this. They have circled their wagons as one would expect them to.

Maintaining the pure state of organics is important to our agriculture and the way we eat. Food doesn't need to be manipulated. It would be just as easy for GMO companies to spend their resources on making things safer and purer. The blatant favoritism toward Monsanto is grotesque. There needs to be separateness in business and politics. The breeches are so profound; they're irrepairable. Monsanto, the FDA and the USDA are all intertwined in a sinuous rats nest. Because these boundaries have been compromised, so has been the safety of the foods we eat. Our foods weren't meant to be manipulated in this way. The greed is really sickening.

Allowing bodycare products to include GMOs ingredients would render the product unorganic. Bending the rules to permit GMOs defeats the purpose of purchasing organic bodycare products.

When Whole Foods labels a product as "All Natural" does that mean the products do not contain GMO's?

My wife & I believe the question should not be the seed GMO or not; rather the question should be whether Roundup is safe for the consumer, the land and it use, as well as the water table beneath and downstream from Roundup. Roundup is a really nature unfriendly product and benefits big business and not the consumer.

If we require food labeling for calories and ingredients, why not label our food re: GMOs? I do not want GMOs in our food supply chain nor in my body. At least, dear government, allow me to be informed to make my own choice. No GMOs in organics, either. I'm sick of our government not caring about its citizen. The FDA and EPA care more about the Monsanto's of the world than its own citizens. Obama, wake up!! How dare you allow our First Lady to tout fresh fruits and veggies in the White House "Garden" while allowing the rest of us to consume GMO food without labeling.

Once these products are labeled and consumers can avoid purchasing them, hopefully we get the last laugh. I rather start growing my own food before I purchase GMO products! And I may just have too!

Several comments here mentioned that they only buy organic food so they are not concerned about the GMO food. The biggest threat right now is the spread of these GMO seeds and crops to the organic foods. Once this happens there will be no more organic crops. And a lot of good all the comments did to the USDA, they went and approved this anyway. Did any of you really think that the USDA would ever listen to what any citizen has to say.

I have missed the deadline, but would still like to weigh in. I do not want to ingest GMOs at all. I disapprove of GMO air born matter pollenating and sterilizing neighboring fields. This is one of the most important issues of our time period and any government organization that thinks it's ok to alter, and then copyright food at the expense of food security and integrity is not serving the people that pay their wages. These agencies are selling-out our future.

It is becoming more and more important and more urgent that GMO's are stopped. Monsanto is now engineering foods with insecticides so they only work with Monsanto "Roundup" Our food is becoming lethal.

label your GMO products....the USDA will not protect the consumers. Begin the process of labeling and you will no longer have to fight against Monsanto because the consumers will do it for you.
