What Would You Do with a Case of Peanut Butter?

cookie_pbcc Congrats to Charlie G, our randomly selected winner for the case of peanut butter giveaway! Here's a confession: My brother ate nothing but peanut butter (on bread) for an entire year. He was a little kid and my mom obviously wasn't taking control of his diet! He wanted peanut butter and she let him have it. Of course there are all kinds of things wrong with that and, luckily, he's outgrown the obsession. He still loves peanut butter and (in moderation) there's everything right about that! So, what would you do with a case of peanut butter? Read on for a chance to win one! It doesn't matter how you like it-smooth, crunchy, unsweetened or no salt added-we've got you covered with our 365 Everyday Value® Organic Peanut Butter at $3.49 for 18oz. And guess what? Our March/April issue of The Whole Deal has a $1.00 off coupon. Print the online coupon or pick up the value guide with coupons in our stores. Now that's a tasty deal. Do you think that peanut butter is kind of all the same? We don't. In our experience, the peanuts that go into that jar make a big, flavorful difference, and organic makes even more of a difference. That's why we require the best-tasting organic peanuts for the peanut butter that wears our name. The organic Spanish peanuts used in our 365 Everyday Value Organic Peanut Butter are grown by several family farmers in West Texas, like the Bingham Family. Organic-PeanutCliff Bingham is a 4th generation farmer. His wife, five sons, six daughters, son-in-law and granddaughter - along with the grandparents - are involved in the family farming business. Bingham Family Vineyards and Farm not only grows peanuts, they grow wine grapes for Texas wineries and organic row crops like cotton, wheat, rye, black-eyed peas, blue corn, sesame and garbanzo beans. When they aren't farming, the Bingham family is big into playing music - many of the kids play multiple instruments and perform with the Lubbock Youth Symphony Orchestra. The family enjoys playing a variety of music including classical, country, gospel, fiddle and wedding songs! With all those active kids, I bet that family eats a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. But aside from PB&J, there are many delicious, grown-up and fun, not-so-grown-up ways to eat peanut butter. Here are a few of our favorites: lettucewrapschilinoodlesApple Sandwiches with Granola and Peanut Butter Lettuce Wraps with Chile Peanut Noodles Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Cookies Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Curry Coconut Peanut Sauce Peanutty Udon Noodle and Tofu Salad PB & J Pancakes So, how do you enjoy peanut butter? Let us know in the comments by March 12th (edit: extended to March 16th since you all LOVE peanut butter so much!) and you’ll be entered to win a case of 365 Everyday Value® Organic Peanut Butter! And, by the way, my brother is NOT eligible to win.

First I would share it with my family and friends! Both my sons love pb&j sandwiches. My husband also loves it with everything and makes shakes with it. I would also make peanut butter cookies! Would love to win a case from Whole Foods plus it's organic!!! We like the organic smooth kind the best!

My favorite way to enjoy Peanut Butter is a simple Peanut Butter Sandwich. Nothing fancy, no jelly, any type of bread but definitely overloaded with delicious Peanut Butter.

Allyson Dwyer says …

peanut butter blondies that i make myself, with some chocolate frosting :):)

Kathryn Millington says …

f I had a case of peanut butter I would probably do the same thing your brother did and eat it everyday, because peanut butter is quite possibly one of the best things on this planet. I would share my peanut butter case with my friends and plan a peanut butter feast with delicacies that range from peanut butter pancakes and cookies to Thai noodles with peanut chili sauce to delicious peanut butter mousse.

Heather Gerety says …

Peanut butter on PB & Nutella sandwiches, peanut butter in banana-yogurt smoothies, on banana bread.. Can't wait to introduce my 9 1/2 mo. old to peanut butter! And always the crunchy kind.

Jill says …

I would give part of it away to a local food shelter and use the rest for my daughter. She's two and loves peanut butter.

Ashlei says …

I love peanut butter drizzled over kefir with frozen blueberries! It's also great with baby carrots or apple slices as a snack!

Oh Wow! We LUV peanut butte in or house! With a family of 5 we eat a lot of it! We smear it on apple slices, celery, crackers, tortilla roll ups, peanut butter cookies, bagels and PB&J sandwiches. It is part of our daily lives...my favorite breakfast is toast with peanut butter and a little strawberry preserves...my daughter is hypoglycemic so she carries peanut butter around with her; when she has low blood sugar, she just eats a spoonful. I can't think of many things better than peanut butter! Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts and win!

I would keep one jar for myself to celebrate winning (and to eat by the spoonful when needing protein and comforting!) and I would give the rest of the case to North Myrtle Beach Helping Hands..a non-profit who gives away stocked food for those in need near Myrtle Beach. They list peanut butter as their number one need for clients as it is nutritious, delicious, and easy to store.

Hmmm... we eat SO much peanut butter... what would I do with it? My favorite way to eat peanut butter is on top of waffles with sliced bananas... yum!!

Courtney Hallum says …

Oh peanut butter! How do I LOVE thee? let me count the ways...I love the traditional pb & j sandwiches, pb on toast, pb on apples & bananas or as a fruit dip, I like it on my homemade whole grain waffles, in my peanut butter banana smoothies, peanut butter cookies, and on and on....but my favorite thing to do is eat it straight out of the jar by the spoonful with a big glass of milk--yummy! Just ask those who know me, peanut butter is my absolute favorite!!! and being a poor college student, it is a major staple in my diet! let's just say a case of peanut butter would be put to very good use!

How do I enjoy peanut butter? On a spoon. A big spoon! If I won a case of peanut butter, I would bring it to my church and place it with the other items to go to the food pantry in our area.

Peanut butter is certainly a staple in my diet- every day! I love mixing ricotta cheese, unsweetened cocoa powder, stevia and melted peanut butter drizzled on top. Delicious for a dessert that is not full of sugar! I also love it with chocolate chip angel food cake. Just take a spoon full of peanut butter and a bite of cake- YUM! Peanut butter really does go with just about anything and I have probably tried it with everything!

Gayla Jeppesen says …

I make peanut butter cookies, that my husband says are the best on the planet (and he's tried a lot of them), even when I make them wheat- and egg-free. But if I had a whole case of peanut butter, I would definitely keep a jar or two for cookies and then donate the rest to my local food bank.

Diana says …

I LOVE peanut butter on crackers topped with a slice of banana. Yum!

PB with my morning oatmeal, cookies, or a snack with my veggies. Sometimes I add it to my greek yogurt.

We actually have PBJ very infrequently, but I still go through plenty of pb. Some ways we use it: peanut chicken stir fry pb&j muffins pb chic chip pancakes pb cookies pb and banana sandwich as a dip for apple slices pb pie pb fudge and very occasionally for baiting a mouse trap

Reem Kattan says …

I would make fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with it, I would bake cookies with it, I would make pancakes with it, I would make thai food peanut sauces with it, I would make smoothies and milkshakes with it, I would eat it with a spoon out of the jar. I love peanut butter and it's one of the only foods that I cannot live without.

We eat a TON of peanut butter in our house. My kids favorite lately has been a GRILLED PB& J. Use whole wheat bread, spread earth balance blend on each slice, then spread on pb and your favorite jelly on the other side. Grill as you would a grilled cheese, just use slightly higher heat to brown it faster without the pb and jelly running all over the place. My daughter likes me to mix the pb and jelly together first and then spread and grill it :) They also love pb on top of their pancakes and then drizzled with maple syrup. I use pb in masaman curry, peanut sauce, on top of ezekiel bread with banana, african peanut stew, in whey protein smoothies, pb frosting for brownies, pb choco chip cookies, pb in my healthy version of no-bake cookies....the list goes on and on! :)

Leslie S Parker says …

Give half to my stepson who loves it (to save him money) and make a whole lotta cookies of various kinds (and freeze a bunch), make some bread (another freezer option), buy lots of young celery (delicious snack), and whatever other recipes I have. Yummo!

I’d love to respond with a comment that further innovates peanut butter, yet I am quite one-dimensional with my usage of the caramel colored, nutty, blend of heaven. I am a purist and employ a no frills approach consuming by the spoonful; simply peanut butter and a utensil. I am far more discerning with the brand of buttery goodness I choose and can indisputably say that Whole Foods 365 creamy peanut butter wins best in class…peanuts and salt, period. What would I do with a case? Eat each jar…by the dollop!

I am a huge fan of peanut butter! One of my lunch staples growing up (and now still) is a peanut butter and honey sandwich. So delicious! I also like to use peanut butter for some of my favorite recipes/dishes/snacks: Peanut butter biscotti Peanut butter muffins Peanut butter banana muffins Peanut butter and jelly muffins Peanut butter scones Peanut butter oatmeal Stir fry with peanut sauce Peanut butter, banana, chocolate smoothie Peanut butter and banana sandwich Peanut butter toast I think the sweet and salty combination is amazing, so for a yummy snack I like to melt a little peanut butter and dip frosted mini wheats, graham crackers or apples into it. And of course it’s good right off the spoon, too!

I am really picky about peanut butter! But, when the butter is good I love to add it to my ice cream. Nothing is better than that! Add a few banana slices, peanut butter and chocolate ice cream! My daughter loves peanut butter! She has taken crackers and peanut butter in her lunches since kindergarten.

This peanut butter spicy sauce is my family's favorate. It's especially good with poultry. Ingredients: 1 cup fresh smooth peanut butter 1/2 cup hot water 2 cloves garlic, finely minced and mashed 2 Tablespoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder 1/2 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice Preparation: In the blender, whisk peanut butter, hot water, garlic, soy sauce, cumin, cayenne, curry powder, and lemon juice together to form a smooth paste. What would I do with a case of peanut butter? That is a loaded question! An easier one would be what wouldnt I do with it?! I'd start off with cookies, sandwiches, snacks. then move onto some thai food, some treats for the dogs, and so much more! limitless possibilities, and healthy (in moderation) to boot!

I could practically live solely on a case of peanut butter. A good old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich is the best way to bring back good old childhood memories. Add potato chips and milk and I am transported back into my elementary school cafeteria! Not to forget that these days, just a spoonful of peanut butter is a great pick-me-up for a quck snack.

Oh goodness - we enjoy it on whole wheat toast, in pb&j cupcakes, in peanut butter cup martinis, on apples & celery with raisins, heck even by the spoonful!

Lauren says …

On pancakes, apples, or in Rock-Star Cookies - peanut butter, dark chocolate, & oat flour. To live for!

Bowden says …

Smooth or chunky. It doesn't matter. Peanut butter is one of those foods that can be eaten breakfast, lunch or dinner and sticks to your bones! Plus, peanut butter is flavorful and delicious--Chinese chicken noodles, paired with celery or banana--but, my personal favorite: whole wheat bread, chunky PB, cayenne and raspberry preserves. YUM.

Peanut Butter is a staple on any backpacking trip. I wouldn't leave home without it!

I love spicy peanut dipping sauce for Summer Rolls, and a peanutty noodle dish.

Ashley Gerber says …

I LOVE experimenting with peanut sauces. Peanut butter is what gives them their flavor. A peanut sauce for noodles is way better than boring buttered noodles. I love a spicy peanut sauce to drizzle on grilled chicken. And of course my 3 year old loves his peanut butter and homemade berry jelly sandwiches. A case of Heinen's organic peanut butter wouldn't last long in our household! (My goodness I'm craving those peanut noodles now)

I'm an athletic 22-year-old, so I wake up HUNGRY. Luckily, peanut butter makes a killer addition to a "power breakfast." Here's a surprisingly way to make a DELICIOUS and different bowl of oatmeal. 1/2 cup 365 organic rolled oats 1 cup water 1 banana 1 TBSP (or 2 if you're really hungry) 365 organic peanut butter. Add water and oats to a small saucepan and cook until oatmeal has reached your desired consistency (longer cooking time and less water=thicker oatmeal, shorter cooking time and more water=thinner oatmeal). Slice banana into thin circles and stir in oatmeal. Remove from heat and pour oatmeal into bowl. Add peanut butter on top of oatmeal, spreading it out as much as you can on the top of the mixture. Wait 1-2 minutes, and the peanut butter will melt. Then enjoy!

Baked in brownies! And of course, PB on celery sticks. Or carrot sticks. Oh heck, just spoon it out and eat it straight!

Haley says …

I love peanut butter in lots of ways, but my big PB crush right now is in home made Thai-inspired peanut sauce/marinade with fresh ginger and lime and Sriracha hot sauce. I found a recipe for it somewhere online, and it's really good on chicken or tofu or anything, really. It's even good to just bake it and eat it alone. Yum!

Jess says …

Peanut sauce! Chunky peanut butter + soy sauce + rice vinegar + sesame oil + sugar + pressed garlic + sesame seeds, whisked together for 30 seconds until smooth; delicious and super easy! Can be used for satay dip, or even better, can be tossed with shirataki noodles (takes 30 seconds to rinse those with hot water), for an awesome quick meal.

Katie says …

I love peanut butter on apple slices! It's such a good dessert!

Laura Wagner says …

I like to take Green & Black's dark chocolate and dip it in all natural (peanuts only) peanut butter... Way better than a Reese's!!!

Carl says …

By the heaping spoonful & everyday just like today!

Amy says …

I enjoy my peanut butter simply: on saltines, or in a PB/Banana sandwich. However, if I were to win a whole case - I'd make a Thai vegan feast for my co-workers at the Green School at which I work! Widening their culinary perspective would be FUN! :)
