My absolute favorite summer beverage is one my Gran used to make for me. We would sit on her patio on a hot summer day, sipping "mocktails" made of ice cold ginger ale and grenadine. She would always put them in cocktail glasses that she brought straight out of the freezer! It made me feel so glamorous!

In the summer, I wax sentimental over LIMEADE. I like it fizzy or flat, blended with rum or green tea, Latined-up with sweetened condensed milk or just plain and strong. Mmmm, it makes my eyes water just thinking about it!

Homemade spa water for sure! Cold water, slices of lemons, cucumber, sprigs of fresh mint and rosemary. Add in some ice and there you have it! Tasty! Refreshing! Pretty in a glass pitcher! Inexpensive! Classy! What's not to love?

For us, it was always a fresh guava juice base (from the front yard tree) blended with whatever else was growing: strawberries, blackberries or peaches. So good. I just planted a guava tree hoping to recapture that same goodness.

I make homemade mango lemonade in my blender with fresh lemons, organic cane sugar, frozen mango chunks and ice.

Selter water or mineral water with Root Beer flavored stevia extract on ice. The best part is....no calories but so refreshing.

lemonade with crushed strawberries and a little bit of lime

My favorite drink would definitely have to be a nice, ice cold piña colada. The tropical flavor of the pineapple and the creamy coconut is perfect on a hot summer day.

Fresh limeade, hand squeezed, plenty of ice, and just enough sugar to take the "edge" off the sourness. I <3 limeade!!

I love a grown-up lemonade stand. Nothing feels more like summer than a vodka lemonade with a splash of sparkling water to give it some bubbles!

Allaysia says …

Making a cup of hot green tea, then putting it in the freezer for about an hour, the best summer drink ever.

The best summer drink that I make is an Arnold Palmer. To make this drink I mix equal parts of homemade organic lemomade with homemade organic unsweet tea. Refreshing on a hot summer afternoon.

Watermelon Orange Lemonade: I've made this for a few of my recent parties and it's been a huge hit!! Blend a fresh seedless watermelon and pour into ice cube trays, freeze. Then in a large pitcher, mix half fresh squeezed orange juice, half lemon lime spritzer, add the watermelon ice cubes... And BAM, a delicious, beautiful drink! :)

kathleen witte says …

Hands down the most popular summer drink is my Jug of Yum! I take the Santa Cruz lemonade - any flavor - add Fresca and fresh lime juice! Kids love it. For the adults...add your favorite gin or vodka :)

This is such a great idea, and thoughtful for the kids. I have an 8 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy, and thankfully my girl is the best helper anyone could ask for, helps cut fruits and vegetables when needed. for Christmas I bought her the kids juice maker but it doesn't work very well, and although she enjoys making juice and healthy foods with mom I Therefore believe this gift would be perfect for her to try to do on her own. Her favorite is strawberry, lemonade and watermelon. but during these hot summer days nothing beats a glass of ICE COLD LEMONADE.

arnold palmers! if alcoholic, then a margarita, on the rocks, no salt! :-)

Watermelon, jalapeno, lime, basil, and mint! Fast, cool and delicious, a true summer refreshener, no sweetener needed.

I love lemonade and serve it to my guest in the summer as well as serve it to my Red Hat Tea Parties. I make lemonade by scratch squeezing lemons through juicer adding club soda for carbonation and sugar. When I want to make a special tea I add to my pitcher of lemonade (Torani's) Chai Tea Syrup to taste. Yummmmmmmm..... its so refreshing.... With slices of lemon... If I won this basket I would have so much fun sharing it with my Red Hat Ladies....

i like lemonade! especially raspberry lemonade

Donna Rich says …

Probably not what you want to hear, but after water, nothing quenches the thirst better than unsweetened iced tea. My favorite summer beverage would involve using black/orange pekoe tea and a bag of peach/black pekoe brewed, add some mint and pour over a glass packed with ice. If I'm not interested in slaking my thirst, my choice is freshly made strawberry lemonade or Sangria, well you asked :)

Michelle B says …

Pina Colada yum :D

Karen says …

Sun Tea! Made from mint from my garden.

Geneva Bohlander says …

In a beautiful huge glass decanter slice one lemon, one orange, and add several sprigs of mint leaves. Fill with spring water. Add to a lovely glass full of ice. Beautiful way to drink water and feel special all day long!

Annabelle Mohr says …

8oz Santa Cruz Pinapple Coconut Juice + 3oz White Rum + 1 full glass of ice = one super delicious instant Pina Colada on the rocks! (no blender to clean!) This is my new favorite by-the-pool drink!

Hi! Our favorite summer quencher is iced green tea with freshly squeezed lemons, agave(to taste) and fresh from the garden mint. Simple but oh so tasty and refreshing!!

geo says …

freen tea/grated ginger root/lots of lemon/ leave in fridge for 24 hrs,,,MMmm

Kirsten says …

For me, summer is all about watermelon. The most refreshing summer drink is: Fill up your blender 1/2 way with watermelon chunks Add one bag frozen strawberries (14 oz) And 6-8 leaves of fresh mint Serves 4-6 (or perfect for a huge glass of breakfast smoothie with a little to share with the kids)

Eugenie says …

I make smoothies with plain nonfat yogurt and whatever fresh fruit is available with the season - strawberries, peaches, blueberries.

Lara says …

Love great ice tea!

Maria says …

I like Sangria with fresh watermelons and oranges!

Howell says …

I like to make a tea with dried hibiscus and rosehips. So refreshing!

Megan Gill says …

The best summer drink by far is a fresh fruit Sangria (homemade of course!!) You can throw whatever fresh fruit is currently in season and looking fabulous right in, soak them in rum and red wine, add ice, and enjoy. Perfect on a hot summer day. Just be careful..it's definitely the kind of drink that sneaks up on you!

Mary says …

I grew up loving a drink called a half-and-half - though we always mixed it two-thirds ice tea and one-third lemonade to make it not as sweet. When I moved to the midwest, I heard people call it an Arnold Palmer. Whatever the name, it's my favorite!

Jessica K says …

When I was younger the best thing ever to drink in the summer was probably grape Kool-Aid. Not anything fancy, but you can't beat the childhood favorites! XD

Carrie M. says …

I brew a ton of Tazo Passion Tea, then sweeten it a little with simple syrup and some fresh squeezed and sliced lemons. It's DELICIOUS!

jessica ann says …

Yummy! Look at all that! Lemonade wins by far but we also enjoy watermelon granitas from our homegrown watermelon and sweet tea as well! Bring on summer and the lemonade making!

Christal says …

A triple-citrus mojito would be my favorite adult beverage for the summer. Made with lots of citrus and fresh mint from our garden. For the family, I like a combination of raspberry and lemon herbal tea served over ice and sweetened with apple juice.

Green tea & fruit juice punch with segments of fresh lemons floating on top.
