My favorite summer beverage is (drum-roll, please) water. Surprise! I suppose I have simple taste (literally), but nothing beats nice, cold water when it's hot out. But... But, you know, if I am so well watered that I'm beginning to pucker, then anything-goes fruit smoothies rock for me. Whatever milk, yogurty, fruit products I can lay hands on, plus whatever little veggie I can sneak in, and maybe spice. It is different EVERY time (and only occasionally scary...).

Watermelon Granita. Yum!

My favorite summer beverage is what we make in our juicer: 1/2 a cantaloupe, 2 cucumbers and 1/2 a small watermelon. It's so refreshing!

Sun tea which I make either outdoors or in the refrigerator. I have a large jar which I add hot water to and tea bags. Then I leave it either outside in the sun or in the fridge and when I think it is done, I grab a glass full of ice cubes and pour my tea into it. Delicious!

We like sweet tea with lemon

Melissa says …

I love unsweetened iced tea! I drink it pretty much all year, but during the summer it is especially refreshing.

We have recently discovered the wonders of juicing fresh fruits and vegetables. Our favorite is orange juice with celery! A close second is carrot apple juice.

Jennifer Hughes says …

Arnold Palmer...half iced tea and half lemonade. Yummy!

Tara says …

My very favorite summer beverage is the santa cruz organic mango lemonade! It's so refreshing and tasty I feel like it's a special treat every time I get a glass and yet it's surprisingly affordable!

Stacy says …

I love to make smoothies with whatever fresh or frozen fruits are available.

I LOVE lemonade year round--not just during the summer. When I have a cold I make hot lemonade with honey and cardamom. Recently, my appendix ruptured and had to take lots of serious and nasty antibiotics to get rid of the infections. This left me with Thrush and just about everything, , I tried to eat or drink, including plain water, tasted awful. Thankfully, I discovered I could still drink lemonade--which I did--lots of fresh lemonade.

I love fresh squeezed lemonade and my family loves to add other natural flavors and fruits like strawberries and red raspberries.

I love peach and white wine sangria! It's still early summer but the Saturn peaches work perfect for it at this time (they seem to be sweetest fastest!). My daughter loves Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade -- and I love the summer time price it carries! :)

Really hard to answer with a favorite! I like diet Snapple lemon tea and the diet Lipton bottled tea with lemon added. I make lots of tea to pour over ice and I've found a new lemonade slush to make - really easy - with frozen strawberries added.

Sweet tea is the beverage of choice for this Southern girl, but I also love lemonades and teas made with various fruits - peach tea, strawberry lemonade, raspberry lemonade, etc. We just discovered a mulberry tree in our backyard, so I'm going to try mixing up a pitcher of mulberry lemonade later this week.

Watermelon blended up with ice! super refreshing! mmm.

Denise Grier says …

In no particular measurements, watermelon and cucumber. I'm not the biggest fan of cucumber but juiced with watermelon is the most refreshing drink ever for summer! Its like jumping into a slightly cool lake or pool after cooking in the sun refreshing.

Naked pomegranate acai smoothies!

I enjoy making Lemonade Syrup with the juice of six lemons combined with 1 cup of sugar and two cups of water boiled on the stove. Let it cook down to a syrup, cool and transfer to a container. When ready for a glass of lemonade add three tablespoons of syrup, eight ounces of water, ice and enjoy! Great anytime!

Sangria!!!

Fresh squeezed lemonade and limeade are great, but I am going to go with ice cold water. My best summer memories are drinks out of the hose in the yard, diving into the near by river, sitting in a stream and letting the water rush over your feet, chewing cups and cups of crushed ice, running through the yard sprinklers. Yes definitely good old H2O

Fruit/Yogurt Smoothies

Erin says …

Take 1/2 fresh lemon, 1/2 fresh lime and a glass full of ice and seltzer water. Refreshing and very summertime-ish.

Kim M. says …

I crave iced sun tea brewed with Tazo wild sweet orange tea. I add a dab of orange blossom honey and some frozen berries. It's soooo refreshing and you avoid having to boil water on a hot summer day. The sun does all the work! Making sun tea is a fun summer activity for kids, too.

Julie says …

Non alcoholic? Definitely watermelon limeade! Though so many citrus-fruit combos are great.

Barbara says …

I like to keep it simple...organic green tea iced with organic lemon juice and a touch of Stevia.

erica marlowe says …

Take 1 can of sweet Oregon bing cherries in heavy syrup and mix it with sour cream, fresh lemon rind and some lemon juice and chill and you've got a fabulous and pretty homemade kefir drink with real fruit. You can also use boysenberries.

Teresa Ruminski says …

I tried to read through all the great comments to see if anyone else said it, but Skip and Go Nakeds! This adult beverage is a unique combination of Pink (or regular) Lemonade mixed with Beer (preferably organic) and topped off with a splash of Vodka. It has a fun name and is really delicious!

Leilani says …

I love iced tea, I try making it with different fruit infusions, it's the best pick-me-up on a hot day!

We love pure, old fashion natural lemonade from fresh squeezed lemons, sugar, water and lots of ice. My kids are planning to have a lemonade stand this summer to raise money for mission trip to the Philippines aimed to provide educational supplies and medicine to under served communities.

A lemonade stand! I'll have to do this with my 4 year-old daughter! Right now my favorite summer beverage have been fresh, raw juice/smoothies. Their the perfect start to my day. I take whatever fruit is in season and concoct a new beverage each morning. This morning I had a Mango, Orange and Banana Smoothie with a packet of Amazing Grass Green Protein Powder. Tomorrow I'm using up some almost too ripe fresh farmers market strawberries with a pear and banana. If I'm in the mood to "indulge" I may add some tapioca pearls for a yummy bubble tea.

Jennifer says …

My secret to any extra-refreshing summertime drink is sparkling water. Pour half or one-quarter fruit juice (I love raspberry lemonade) and fill the remainder with sparkling water (flavored or not--your call). I don't pour it over ice. Ice seems to quickly sap the carbonation. Instead, keep your fruit juice refrigerated. Side note: recently made lemonade from scratch with my very young kids and then had a lemonade stand. They loved every minute of it! Would love to do it again with help from our favorite Whole Foods Market in Atlanta on Ponce. Thanks!

Jessa Madosky says …

My favorite summer beverage is fruit juice spritzers - with water we carbonate at home and either 365 cherry pomegranate juice or fresh juice from the farmers market! Healthy and delicious.

Dana G says …

raspberry lemonade

I make my lemonade with spring water, sugar and lemon juice fresh in the blender!

I love to drink lots of fluids during the summer, lemonade, water, and even slushies, but my favorite has to be eating fresh cold watermelon and then drinking the juice it of the bowl!
