My favorite summer beverage is a toss-up between Sangria (heavy on the fruit, especially strawberries & raspberries), and Lemonade - with a wedge or two of Lime in it. Lime is my favorite flavor, so I tend to squeeze one in my drinks whenever I can!

I like to make strawberry basil lemonade. Muddle some basil & strawberries, cut up some lemons, add seltzer, and a little sugar. If you're an adult you can always add some vodka or gin.

I love sangria, whether it's red or white. And I like heavy on the fruit, light on the added liquor. Less sticky sweet, and more fruity. So good.

I love a variation on Kir royale; champagne or other brut sparkling wine mixed with Campari, with a lemon twist. It’s just so good and not too sweet... Non alcoholic, has to be iced coffee, which we make by the vat at my catering biz, and iced green tea, also made by the vat.

This refreshing blended drink is sure to cool your boots on a hot summer day. Add one part strawberry nectar (available in the juice isle at your local Whole Foods), one part ice, half of an organic banana and a few organic strawberries. Blend to perfection with a strawberry garnish and a cocktail umbrella, and there you have it, The Strawbananza! My favorite summer drink.

Icy cold lemon-limeade. We use equal parts fresh lemons and fresh limes. The grandkids help to make it our "secret" recipe by going out to the garden to get some mint leaves to "mush' in our pitcher.

I love a nice IPA. Non-alcoholic? I try to steer clear of lemonade and iced tea because of the sugar, although I do love them. Mostly it's just iced water for me.

The first really hot day of summer requires a blueberry or raspberry lemonade cooler. You need a splash of blueberry or raspberry juice mixed with lemonade and sparkling ice. Then float a few frozen berries on top to enhance the taste. For the adventureous, add a jigger of rum and find a hammock under your favorite tree.Happy Summer Days!
