My favorite summertime beverage is lemonade, and I will always remember when my family moved from Chicago to the suburbs when I was 8 years old in 1972, and Mrs. Smith (the lady next door) came over to welcome us to the neighborhood. She had a pitcher of ice cold, freshly made lemonade and a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies, and we decided that we loved the suburbs! I am still best friends with her oldest son, who later introduced me to the man who is now my fiance. Yep, fresh lemonade in the summertime is definitely my favorite!!

When it's really hot outside, I love drinking really cold sparkling drinks. I would take sparkling water and my favorite fruit juice, like orange, and mix it all together with some ice. It's so refreshing, and so much more healthier than soda!! :)

For hot Texas summers, nothing beats a glass of iced tea, especially with lots of ice and fresh mint. For an adult bevrage, you can't beat sangria or margaritas!

I love to mash up some fresh berries with a little lemon juice and sugar. Then I let this mixture macerate for a hour or so and mix it with some sparkling water, or ginger ale.

On these hot summer days, we love making watermelon agua fresca! Using agave nectar in lieu of refined sugar makes it even more delicious. So refreshing - it's summertime in a glass!!!!!

Iced Tea and Lemonade are the summer standards and the basic they are the better they taste and the quicker they can be enjoyed.

I love dairy-free iced coffee flavored with cardamom pods. I brew coffee using half as much water as I would normally when brewing it and throw five or six cardamom pods in with the coffee. That goes in the fridge in a glass jar. Whenever I want iced coffee, I put ice cubes in a glass, fill the glass halfway with the iced coffee, then to the top with soy milk. Then, I sweeten it to taste with agave syrup or stevia.

My favorite summer beverage is homemade iced tea. There's nothing like making it yourself. The combination possibilities are endless. I love playing "mad scientist" and coming up with new combinations.
