The one summer drink I always turn to is home-made limeade. My uncle has a lime tree in his backyard so whenever he comes over, he brings a bag of fresh picked limes. First, I create a symple syrup. combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a sauce pan and let the mixture come to a boil. After a few seconds of boiling, remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool. While the syrup is cooling, I squeeze the limes, leaving some of the pulp in the juice. Then I add ice and syrup to taste, grab a seat, and enjoy the limeade.

I steep some basil leaves in hot water. After cooling, remove leaves and use water with lemonade concentrate to make basil lemonade. So refreshing. Add a few basil leaves or strawberries to garnish. Add your favorite liquor for a special patio party drink.

Mojitos! There is nothing more refreshing than mint, bubbles and a bit of sweetness. I often make them without the rum as an afternoon refreshment.

I love strawberry or raspberry lemonade. It is the perfect collision of sweet/sour and it quenches your thirst on a hot summer day. I usually buy some plain lemonade and slice strawberries or drop in fresh raspberries along with some lemon slices to make a colorful and delicious drink.

My favorite summer beverage is frozen berry smoothies! My husband love them a lot. I make them every night and morning for the entire family. I get all the ingredients from Whole Foods! I use yogurt, frozen strawberries, blue berries and bananas. Add Kefir milk, raw honey $ flax seed. Plus, 6 pieces of ice! Healthy!

My favorite summer beverage of the moment is decaf black tea (6 bags), 1 pomegranite teabag and crushed spearmint leaves in a gallon of filtered water. Doesn't need sweetener (I'm not from the South) or lemon, but can use.

Age 9 was a long time ago for me, but I recall one day at that age very vividly. After school, I readied my red wagon with paper cups and mixed up a batch of lemonade. The wagon wasn't all red. Parts were orange due to rust. I hadn't much time to get myself or anything together because after walking home from school, I needed to position myself at the bus stop to catch the workers coming home. Out the door I went; a typical boy of the time - unaware of the dirt on his hands. It was a hot day. I was certain to make a fortune selling lemonaid. The bus arrived, it emptied and no one - on that bus or the next, or even the next purchased anything. The lemonaid was getting warm. I was getting discouraged. A few ants made their way over my leg as I sat on the sidewalk. I drank some lemonaid, spilled some, and the ants appreciated the sugar. A lady - one lady - got off the bus, she looked at the lemonaid, my rusted wagon and me and put a quarter in a cup. I offered to pour her some lemonaid, but she just smiled and said something nice (I don't remember what exactly). Years later I would become successful in selling. But I would never so appreciate a customer as much as I still do her. Whoever she is - thank you. I hope you had a good life.

I remember when my son ( he was 7 yrs. old back then) decide to sell LEMONADE for the summer to have extra money. Now we live in a clu-de-sac, my neighbors were so impressed because he was the first kid in years to put a LEMONADE STAND in years, that they all came by our house to buy some. He made $20 bucks that day, his signed said, 25 cents mind you. They were giving him $1, $2, $3, someone even gave him a $5 bill. He was so excited that he did the LEMONADE STAND 3 more times thoses summer months. He loved the spending his LEMONADE money that summer. I'll never forget the generosity of my neighbors, my son has never forgotten it either, he talks about now that he is 21 yrs. old. He said it was one of his best summers he ever had because he had extra spending money that year.
