I try to have a variety of cool foods in the summer. Favorites include fresh salsa and chips, hummus, a cream cheese blue cheese log and a platter of fresh seasonal fruit. Of course some light summertime wine is a must !!!!

My go-to party food would have to be my infamous vegan chocolate chip cookies. Seems like everywhere I'm invited to or anytime I hold a party at my house, there's always a few people who request them ;)

Grilled Pitas with Caramelized Onions and Goat Cheese make a nice change to the classic hummus and pita appetizer! Throw the pitas on before the burgers...goes down nicely with a wheat beer such as Hefe-Weizen..mmmm!

I have 3 favs to serve, cucumber/avocado dip with homemade corn torilla chips, fresh sliced apples with mixed nuts and a good, firm cheese and ceviche made with fresh tomatoes, cilantro, onions, shrimp & cod served with water crackers! All are made fresh and are nice cool treats for the summer snacks!!

The last time I had people over for a house warming party I put a nacho bar out on the counter and it was a big hit! I was able to sit back and enjoy myself while everyone else helped themselves to food. The best part was that clean-up was easy. I recommend Food for Lovers Vegan Queso, organic tortilla chips, soyrizo, black olives, fresh guacamole, variety of salsas, black beans and Tofutti sour cream.

Everyone loves our Buffalo Chicken Dip. It has a little kick to it but not too much. Even our 2yr old and his friends love this dip. I have pictures for proof.

What makes my party time excellent is preparing foods that are excellent taste and using great ingredients. If I make a bruschetta, I always make sure to use fresh basil instead of dried. Fresh herbs always give your food the punch it needs when it is coupled with fresh ingredients. Also, try making a fresh salsa with fresh cilantro. Yummy!
