I like to go out and purchase the most beautiful apples I can get my hands on. I try to purchase different color apples. I slice them in large pieces, usually sixths if the apples are nice and big, dip them in a little bit of lemon juice, and arrange them in a visually pleasing circle of alternating color slices. Easy, beautiful, and the only appetizer that always, always, always is completely consumed, no matter how big the platter is that you bring. I find that people love something healthy and pure and the best part is that this platter is perfect no matter what the season or occasion. Enjoy!

I mean Stan Mikita's Donuts are always excellent munchies, and you can't go wrong with Cream of Sum Yung Guy, but if those are absent in any inopportune moment, I would not turn my back to the 6 liter bowl of Oasis Hommus and the veggie tray until I can see the bottom of the container. Schwiingg

I make a smokey white bean dip--similar to the texture of hummus--blended with fresh herbs from my patio garden. Tastes super fresh, especially with some lemon zest and fresh lemon juice:) I serve it with pita chips and crudites. First time tasters always seem to fall in love with it and want the recipe! Leftovers are never a problem--you can use the dip on sandwiches, in a creamy sauce for poultry or meat, or just eat it straight-up!

I like to have snacks the children can help prepare, like nachos, celery and cream cheese, crackers with toppings, etc.

My family and friends love artichoke/jalapeno dip with pita chips. We also enjoy fresh, chunky, homemade salsa with baked tortilla chips. Fruit salad is also a big hit.

My party favorites involve wings, hot, mild bbq and teriyaki. You also have to have the chips and dips, which I love making a french onion dip. Always love the classics.

When I host a party I always like to include this one: slice rounds of French baguette as thin as possible, top with smoked mozzarella, a basil leaf, a thin slice of tomato, drizzle of evoo, sprinkle if fresh ground black pepper and sea salt. It's like a mini open-faced caprase sandwich.

I love to grill tilapia for fish tacos. Add heirloom tomato salsa, freshly made tortilla chips, guacamole, Mexican street corn, black beans and rice, and we've got a great party! Oh, and don't forget the sangria! Oh man, this is making me hungry!

We are a big party/ get-together kind of family and I would have to say that appetizers and finger foods are a must at any party! Cheese and crackers, mini quiches, spinach dips, or an olive tray is perfect and easy to throw together for last minute partys and cookouts! And having fresh produce is always a good thing to keep on hand as well- whether it's fruit or veggies cut it up and serve! Everyone love fresh fruit or veggies and your guests will appreciate you serving them something healthy! Thanks for reading!
