We love sharing the flavor of satsumas! In some cultures, it’s traditional to give citrus to friends and relatives for good wishes and we couldn’t agree more — satsumas make a perfect gift for the holiday season.
Bring a bright spot of citrusy sunshine to your holiday season with a box of satsumas and gift one to a friend — on us! Leave a comment below by December 13th telling us who you would share satsumas with and why. We’ll pick 10 winners at random to receive a 13-pound box of satsumas along with another box for the giftee of their choice.
A variety of mandarin orange and a cousin to the clementine, satsumas are super sweet, juicy, seedless and easy to peel. They’re only available for a short time (from October to December) so you’ve got to enjoy their sweetness while you can. You can use them in recipes, keep them on hand for easy snacks and as edible table décor…what’s not to love? Find more ways to enjoy satsumas here.

Remember to keep your eye out for an email message on December 14th — you’ll need to respond by Dec 15th in order for us to collect addresses and ship the satsumas for the holidays. We can send the gift box of satsumas to the winner for hand delivery to their giftee or we can ship to another US address. Enjoy!

As a dietitian I know that satsumas are not only high in vitamin C and antioxidants, but also a good source of folate and potassium- and with only 50 calories per fruit! Not to mention a healthy portable snack- I would share them with my patients who are always on the go- a great alternative to sweets and candies since they are naturally sweet and delicious. :)

I would share with Santa on Christmas Eve! We always seem to run into each other, while he is busy filling the stockings! He works so hard, and I think he needs some vitamin C in his diet! (Of course, all the elves that he brings along would get these beautiful Satsumas, too!)

I would share with my boyfriend who is an EMT at a small Fire Dept. and he and the rest of the crew can snack on satsumas instead of candy! They save lives everyday...so he needs yummy and healthy food!

I do note wish to win a box of satsumas, I'm not a US resident. But I will be coming over from the Bahamas to spent Christmas at my holiday home and MUST have satsumas for the holidays. Please confirm that Whole Foods will have satsumas I can purchase

I would share with my friend Tammy and her family. There are very few foods we can eat due to alergies and disorders that Fresh Fruit is our candy. Satsumas are sweet just like her. Thank you.

I would share these with my mother because she absolutely loves satsumas and gets so excited when they're in season. I think it must be a Chinese thing. Satsumas are so tasty and so good for you. They're very portable, too, and make great traveling companions!

My co-worker Jennifer brings Satsumas to work as a snack and a pick me up for whoever needs one. I once tried to return the favor by bringing her tangerines, but I prompty learned that these are NOT the same. I would like to share them with her not only for all of the times she has "picked me up" but also to make up for my mistake. LoL

I'd share with my co-workers. During the holidays baked goods and sweets are the daily norm at the office. Satsumas would be the perfect sweet and Healthy way to enjoy snacking during the day without feeling too guilty about the rest.

Satsumas and Good Wishes for my amazing seniors at the Silver Spring YMCA. I have 20+ seniors who commit M/W/F mornings to fitness in my exercise class. We dance, sing, play ball at "recess" (you are never too old for recess!), focus on relaxation and have fun all along the way. This group is welcoming to the "new kids" and supportive of each other through life's whatevers.
