RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE. My husband and I religiously recycle everything that we can. We have curbside recycling in our city, recycle all other "odd" shaped recyclable containers and plastics bags at Whole Foods, take misc. materials to our county facilities and local refuse/recycling centers (for a nominal fee), recycle athletic shoes through Nike Reuse-A-Shoe, repurpose socks through Mismatched Sock, take unused/unwanted (cleaned-up) pet items to the Humane Society, donate clothing and household items to local charitable thrift stores, etc., etc. It does take considerable time and effort but, if we all took these extra measures, our landfills would dwindle. Our Earth is much too precious to be covered in garbage!

I would love to start a garden! Eating healthy vegetables from the garden or purchasing fruits and vegetables from the local farmer's markets will definitely help to reduce the plastic trash that junk food comes in. And BONUS, it will help my family eat healthier and I can lose weight!

What to do - seven Koi in my pond eaten by a Great Blue Heron. All we can do now is keep the environment clean for the 23 creatures that survived. Every creature needs clean fresh water. But be sure to hide before you are eaten.

I am going to try to upcycle as much as possible--instead of throwing out milk containers, I found an ingenious idea to convert them to lunch containers and such. Also try to cut down on plastic water bottle use--this has been a hard one for us.
