We use usable bags. We compost. We use "homemade" cleaners-not harsh chemical cleaners. We buy local as much as possible-especially produce.

I use vinegar to clean inside of the microwave and all of the counters in my kitchen. I save money, and keep harsh chemicals out of the environment!

I started my car and let it sit in the driveway, turned on all the lights in the house, and thanked the good Lord for the resources that are on this Earth that create energy for us.

I take my lunch to work everyday and often times I take a can of organic split pea or lentil soup to heat up in a bowl I keep in my office. I am going to rinse the can and lid and bring it home so that I can recycle it because our business does not have recycling despite our efforts.

I plan to teach my kids to reuse things we might otherwise throw away. Recently we started using empty egg cartons to organize my son's little toys and odds and ends (instead of buying organizers or containers).

My resolution: I will revise my meal planning into a once a week lifestyle. 1. I will create a week's menu plan 2. I will check/compare ads, make my list 3. I will shop at one main grocery store that price matches all competitors 4. I will cook the weeks worth of main dishes and freeze (when applicable) This plan will save $$ because it stops impulse buying. This plan saves time by cooking the bulk ahead of time. This plan saves energy by reducing the time the oven and stovetop are in use. This plan increases the amount of quality time I can spend with my loved ones, myself or engaging in other hobbies.
