I am doing my part this year for Mother Earth by using only re-useable water bottles, re-useable grocery bags, and composting all bio-degradable products to reduce my carbon footprint

I will start taking an extra plastic bag with me when I walk my dog. Not only do I scoop his poop in a bag so I can dispose of it, I will start picking up trash on the sides of the road when we walk.

I plan on using re-useable grocery bags for all my shopping. I also use my own re-useable coffee mug and water bottle when I am out and about.

Hi, my husband and I are proud parents of 5 great kids. We have been teaching them for a long time to leave the lights off during the day and to turn them off when you leave the room. We also recycle everything from plastic bottles to school papers. Using eco-friendly cleaners makes us feel like we are helping keep the Earth clean and keeping our kids safer. Every Earth day, for a couple of years now, we make it a good habit of planting either flowers or veggies. Happy Earth day!

I have started a worm bin and a compost bin to use kitchen and garden waste. I will continue to use each citie's freecycle site to find second life for things I no longer need to reduce stuff going to the dump site.

Since the birth of my new daughter in 2008, we have been trying to teach her (and us) a better way of life. We started with a few simple things, like cleaning with all natural items (vinegar, baking soda, lemon jucie, etc). Next it was resualbe bags to all the stores. It is funny, because if I forget to take them into the store she now reminds me. We have a flower garden, and she would help me with this. She then started asking questions about her fruit and veggies. So we now have fruit trees and a garden. We have tried to do with alot of things that cause more waste. We have leared to recycle most everything. We take things to the local charity not throw them in the trash. We also shop this way. We will try to find things at the local thrift shops or swaps, before going out to buy new things. We compost what we can. We have now found that we dont have much to go to the landfills. This is a new way of life. We try new things all the time. Last year it was to disconnet the internet and cable tv. We have grown closer as a family this way.
