I love pan-flute Christmas tunes, like you hear played in public and can buy their CDs right there. It produces a bitter-sweet sound, which is the way I sometimes feel during the Christmas season.

"Simple gifts" is an old quaker song that reminds us of the value of gifts you can't put in shiny packages. We have Yo Yo Ma with Alison Krauss on our Christmas playlist.

I always have a craving to hear some zydeco around this time of year--it brings feelings of being amongst friends and having fun. I also like drumming tracks--they get my blood moving!

I love all of your Putumayo collection so I'm very excited about this Christmas collection and would love to win; when I was in middle school we always sang " I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" in French - le noel blance - "oh quand j'entend chanter Noel- meme arrevoir les jours d'antand" it was really beautiful and I'd recommend that. (This is my botched up French memory of the words) Best of luck with your ongoing musical adventures, Naomi

I love Latin American/Mexican Christmas music. I especially love the recent tune I heard about sending the negativity in our lives packing to start the new year right.

I love "Hapa Holidays". Hapa is a Hawaiian group. Some of the songs are in native Polynesian language and some are in English but still have native instruments in the background. Another favorite is the Andean Christmas cd. The woooden flutes are beautiful. I heard this group perform at a local mall one Christmas. The instruments were beautiful echoing off the brick walls.
