I still remember the day when, as a kindergartener, I walked home from school by myself for the first time. It was a big deal, and to mark the occasion, I got to choose what we had for dinner that night. My choice? Roast chicken. Maybe not typical for a five-year-old, but I knew I loved chicken then and that love remains.
