The Whole Kids Club Presents...A Taste of Italy

Cooking Classroom, $15 for Whole Kids Club members, $20 for non-members

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. School may be out, but it’s never a bad time to learn something…especially if you get to eat your homework! In this fun class, we’ll learn all about Italian history, culture and cuisine, the science behind making pasta and sauces, and whip up some really tasty treats. Special ingredients that we’ll be cooking with include lots of herbs, tomatoes, Italian cheeses and garlic. This class is for 5-12 year olds, with lots of hands-on cooking time and vegetarian options, too. Come hungry! All kids’ classes are drop-off classes- kids only please! On the menu:

  • Caprese Salad with Pesto
  • Fresh Pasta with Hand Crushed Tomato Sauce
  • Mini Meatballs
  • Rosemary Garlic Focaccia Bread
  • An Italian Cheese Tasting
  • Chocolate Biscotti

Knife Skills: Intermediate Techniques

This class will be taught by Chef Jeremy. In this Intermediate Edition of our popular series of Knife Skills classes, we will concentrate on utilizing fresh seasonal ingredients as a way to improve your knife skills and making you more comfortable in the kitchen. Chef Jeremy will demonstrate different cuts and cutting techniques, then assist you as the class learns to perform some basic cutting techniques together. The knowledge and skills learned in this class will provide you with a solid foundation that you will use in the kitchen for the rest of your life. This class is gluten-free and has great vegetarian and vegan options available upon request. Please note that this class is very hands-on and you can expect to both prep and prepare foods during class under supervision of the chef. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

·         French Onion Soup with Melted Cheese Crostini

·         A Citrus Supreme Salad with Watercress and Homemade Vinaigrette

·         Steak Frites, Strip Steak with Homemade French Fries 

·         Caramelized Apple Tarts with Goat Cheese and Honey
