Your kids learn how to select foods to keep their energy high and bodies fit. Kids leave with a full lunch ready to bring to school the next day. Come back each day and parents get the entire first week of school off from packing lunches!

Non-profit health organization, The Cancer Project, is back with a four week series about reducing the risk of diabetes with a diet rich in whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables. The series offers a lecture, cooking demonstration, and samples of delicious, health-promoting dishes, along with a take-home packet of easy and affordable recipes.  In this first class, instructor Sheryl Wolf will review the latest science behind a plant-based diet and give some simple ideas for getting started.

The Power Plate diagram will help you create your own Weekly Meal Planner and learn how to navigate the grocery store to find the treasures (and avoid the troublemakers!). We’ll discuss common concerns and taste some of the staples that you’ll want to bring home from your grocery store.

After the volunteer work, Whole Foods Market Jenkintown will provide FREE a salad lunch to everyone who helped.
