5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Cooking Class, $15/class, $40/week

Teens will learn how to become master chefs in a series of summer workshops with Jennifer Jones of Inspired Food. They’ll start with the basics and gradually add new skills. Drop in for one class, or sign-up for the whole summer! All skill levels are welcome. Grades 6-12.

Week 1: The Basics

Tuesday, June 4th
This introduction to the series will focus on kitchen safety & cleanliness. We’ll learn about "anytime food" vs. "sometimes food", comparing a healthy cookie made from really-good-for-you ingredients to a delectable - and traditional - chocolate chip cookie. We will then make some fun & super healthy veggie and fruit dips to enjoy.

Wednesday, June 5th
Cooking Basics - This class will introduce students to some basic American dishes & cooking techniques. We will roast a chicken, make soup & cook potatoes. What students learn today can be the basis for an endless variety of creative kitchen creations.

Thursday, June 6th
Baking Basics - This class will focus on the ins-and-outs of baking. We will bake a loaf of bread, make a frosted chocolate cake and learn how to make pie dough.
