Best Butcher and Fishmonger Face-off

It’s the clash of the cleavers at Whole Foods Market Merchants Walk! The South region’s best butchers and fishmongers are going head-to-head, putting their skills to work to see whose precision reigns supreme. This regional semi-final event will include four butchers and fishmongers from throughout the Southeast. The cutters will square off to break down their cuts in the allotted time and judges will determine who goes on to the final event in Atlanta next month.
Shoppers are invited to attend the cutting event on the side parking lot of the store. There will be recipes, live cooking demonstrations, a giving grill with proceeds going to Atlanta Boxer Rescue, giveaways, a bouncy house for the kids and plenty of healthy competition.
As an added bonus, our next door neighbor, The Cook’s Warehouse, is holding a Big Green Egg Celebration on the same day and time. There will be grilling demonstrations while Chef and the Fatman record their James Beard nominated radio show to help celebrate this top of the line grill. Plus, guest appearances by Jessie Lysiak from Social Circle, GA, and on the current season of Master Chef and Steve Whitmire from Brasstown Beef.

Additional: One regional winner will be determined from all 26 South region stores. The Best Butcher and Fishmonger will compete at the national Face-off event at FEAST in Portland, Oregon this September.
