Come by the store from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct 2, to meet artisan beef expert and private chef Lynne Curry, who will be signing copies and offering tasting samples from her new cookbook, “Pure Beef: An Essential Guide to Artisan Meat with Recipes for Every Cut” (Running Press). With 10 years of experience cooking grassfed beef and living among the people who raised it, she’s the perfect person to answer your questions about mindful ways to eat meat, the various cuts, and preparation techniques. Recycle Your Electronics Free with Friendly Earth
Friendly Earth provides free electronics recycling for Seattle and the greater King County area. We partner with leading nonprofit organizations, schools, and other businesses to dispose of electronic waste (e-Waste) responsibly.
Friendly Earth will NEVER EXPORT into THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES (like China, India, Africa, etc.) or DISPOSE (landfills, incinerators) of electronics that have been collected through our organization. As an organization pursuing our E-Stewards Certification, it is against E-Steward bylaws and Friendly Earth’s ethical and moral standards to ever ship any thing out of the country or into landfills.
What do we recycle?
-Appliances: washers, dryers, refrigerators, AC units, heating units, etc
-Metals: all forms of metals, including ferrous and non-ferrous
-Electronics: computers, cell phones, tvs, speakers, stereos, video players (dvd, vhs, etc.)
-Batteries: single charge, multi-charge (lithium and metal hydride), lead batteries
NO ALKALINE BATTERIES
-Machinery- lawn and farm equipment, personal and commercial vehicles, bikes, etc
-Electronic Accessories: power cords, cables, cds, dvds, hard disks, chargers, etc
-Garments: clothes, uniforms, etc.
Friendly Earth also works with the Eastside Baby Corner to help provide those in need of items for children 12 years and younger. Friendly Earth will be accepting donations of:
Gently used toys, clothing, blankets, books, high chairs, strollers and carriers
We celebrate October 25th as Poverty is Unnecessary Day and recognize our supplier partners who donate $25,000 to support the Foundation and the communities where we work
$5 gets you a beer, snacks and a chance to see this amazing movie with some local brewers.
