Stock up and shop for a cause during our Community Support Day at Whole Foods Market St. Paul, Minnetonka , and Minneapolis locations. On Thursday, March 6th, we'll donate 5% of our sales to the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. The money raised will go towards their new program, Farm to Childcare.  The goal of this initiative is to bring fresh, locally grown product to children in daycare throughout Minnesota.  This project builds on IATP’s widely-recognized leadership in building Minnesota’s Farm to School movement, and focuses on the early childhood years when life-long taste preferences and eating habits are at their most formative.

Ingredient Spotlight: Cooking and Baking with Beer
Thursday, February 26th
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Cooking Classroom, $30 per person

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. The Twin Cities has gone beer crazy. There’s a taproom or a dozen in every neighborhood, and shelves upon shelves of interesting, exotic beers at the liquor store. This awesome bounty is great for curious cooks as well, as beer is a great ingredient for cooking and baking. Beer can be earthy, sweet, fruit, sour, bitter and smoky, just to name a few of the many flavors that beer can add to a dish. Beer’s complexity can also make it a little tricky to cook with, and in this class, we’ll take some of the mystery out of it. We’ll go over how to select the right beer for the right dish, when to use it as is and when to reduce it, and how to highlight the flavor of the beer in a full menu of sweet and savory dishes. This class has hands on opportunities as desired. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

  • Beer Battered Beer Marinated Shrimp

  • Wisconsin Beer Cheese Soup

  • Seasonal Salad with Wheat Beer Vinaigrette

  • Beer Braised Beef Shortribs
