Community Support Day for the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy’s Farm to Childcare Program

Whole Foods Market St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Minnetonka

Thursday, June 6th

Stock up and shop for a cause during our Community Support Day at Whole Foods Market St. Paul, Minnetonka , and Minneapolis locations. On Thursday, March 6th, we'll donate 5% of our sales to the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. The money raised will go towards their new program, Farm to Childcare.  The goal of this initiative is to bring fresh, locally grown product to children in daycare throughout Minnesota.  This project builds on IATP’s widely-recognized leadership in building Minnesota’s Farm to School movement, and focuses on the early childhood years when life-long taste preferences and eating habits are at their most formative.

No Wheat-za Pizza
Monday, April 21st
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Cooking Classroom, $10 per person

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Of all the things to de-gluten, pizza is one of the trickiest. The act of stretching a pizza crust relies on the gluten in wheat flour to make it supple and flexible, but we’ve got ways around that. Join us back in the cooking classroom to try two different gluten-free homemade pizza crusts, including the unusual and delicious cauliflower crust, and sample different brands of gluten free pizza to determine which pizza should join you next time hunger strikes without warning. This class is gluten free, with dairy-free options available upon request, and will be a demonstration, rather than hands-on cooking class. Pre-registration is required.

Pre-registration for classes and select events required. See class description for specific instructions. Registration required no later than 48 hours prior to the class date. Call 612-927-8141, visit our customer service desk, or register online to pre-register. Classes and events are subject to change or cancellation. If you cannot attend your class, you must call Whole Foods Market Lake Calhoun and cancel at least 48 hours in advance. You will receive classroom credit for the amount of the class to be used no later than three months from the date of the class that you registered for. Please call the above number or contact  Culinary Director Ani Loizzo at Ani.Loizzo@wholefoods.com if you have any questions. Thank you!

Electronic Recycling/Repurpose Drive with Ewaste Recyclers
Tuesday, April 22nd
12:00 AM
Outside Dining Area, Free

Give the Earth some love by turning your trash into someone else’s treasure, or find treasure that was someone else’s trash! Electronics recycling has never been easier. Most electronics contain toxic metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium. If any of these contaminants get into our rivers, streams or lakes, they can harm our health and damage the environment. Today, on Earth Day, is the perfect time to recycle or repurpose!

Recycle: Drop off your old electronics here at our store, and we’ll recycle them for you, thanks to our friends at Ewaste Recyclers located here in Edina! Bring in your computers, monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, copiers, telephone systems, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, stereo components and more! Check out the complete list of accepted items here: http://ewaste-recyclers.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Website-Listing-of-Accepted-Items.pdf

Repurpose: Are your electronics in good working condition but just aren’t used anymore? Or are you just looking for a functional VCR to play some VHS tapes that you just can’t seem to part with? No problem! This is also a repurpose drive!

Give the Earth some love by turning your trash into someone else’s treasure, or find treasure that was someone else’s trash! Electronics recycling has never been easier.
