Fall Turkey Handprints

Handprint turkeys are probably on of the most popular handprint crafts around. We will use paint and some decorations to create a simple and timeless piece of art you can use to decorate year after year. After our activity we will take a tour of the store. Cost: $5. Click here to register online.

Mia is our in-store Cheese Monger and Team Leader for the Specialty department. She is a Certified Cheese Professional (CCP) for the American Cheese Society (ACS). Her passion is to educate and share her wealth of knowledge with others.
Please join our Certified Cheese Professional, Mia Jones, and her guest, Kevin Palmaccio of Herve Mons, one of the finest affineurs and exporters of French Cheeses. We will be discussing the roll of affineur and exporter along with trying some of their delicious cheeses such as St. Nuage, Camembert, St. Soleil, Gabiteau, and Meule de Savoie. Alba is a cooking instructor and personal chef specializing in southern Italian and Mediterranean cuisine in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Her recipes are rustic, simple and vibrant in taste.
The holidays are a time for special meals with family and friends. Sometimes just changing the side dishes can transform a meal from good to great! In this class, we will create easy and delicious side dishes that can be served for the holidays, special occasions, or just because you like to. April graduated from Johnson & Wales in 2004 and returned to Maryland. After working for several different companies, including Kerri Out Food, Whole Foods & The Main Ingredient, April chose to travel west and hone her skills in Las Vegas. Missing the East Coast, April came back to Maryland to do what she loved most: Prepare delicious food using quality, local ingredients!
Chef April will teach us how easy it is to enjoy the holiday feasts without straying from our health goals. We will start with a delicious Radicchio Wedge Salad topped with Roasted Root Vegetables and a No-Oil Balsamic Dressing, then we’ll put together a Seasonal Vegetable Lentil Stew, and we’ll complete the meal with a Kale Wild Mushroom & Yam Shepherd’s Pie using a red potato crust.
