Alba is a cooking instructor and personal chef specializing in southern Italian and Mediterranean cuisine in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Her recipes are rustic, simple and vibrant in taste.

 

Each February, around the world, friends and lovers exchange flowers and gifts in celebration of Valentine’s Day. This very special day originated with no gifts, but rather with a promise of eternal love and happiness. Nothing brings people together like a romantic language of food. Sizzle, sauté, simmer, and heat up our kitchen with your special someone. Let’s cook Heart Shaped Tomato and Goat Cheese Tarta, Farfalle Pasta with Ricotta and Fragole (strawberries), and Shrimp Mare e Monti. This is a hands-on cooking class.

April graduated from Johnson & Wales in 2004 and returned to Maryland.  After working for several different companies, including Kerri Out Food, Whole Foods & The Main Ingredient, April chose to travel west and hone her skills in Las Vegas.  Missing the East Coast, April came back to Maryland to do what she loved most: Prepare delicious food using quality, local ingredients!

 

What's more romantic than preparing a beautiful meal with that special someone?  Executive Chef and Partner, April Koppenhoefer of Kerri Out Food, will do just that!  Not only will you learn some wonderful recipes, but plate presentation and tips on wine pairings as well.  Come and join us!

Surina Ann Jordan, PhD, is a health educator, author, columnist, researcher, gourmet chef, and counselor. She is the founder of the Eat To Live Network support for healthy eaters. She is a vegan chef and enjoys teaching people how to make plant food flavorful and desirable. She has over 20 years as a wellness instructor and nutritional counselor.

Surina is the author of four books entitled:

She is a member of the Delaware Cancer Consortium and chaired chapter six on food and nutrition for the Maryland Cancer Plan. She volunteers for the American Heart Association and the Food and Faith program at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Public Health. She chaired the Maryland Committee on Childhood Obesity. She is also a member of the Maryland Fitness Advisory Council, and the Maryland Heart Disease and Stoke Council.
 

Surina Ann Jordan is the president and Senior Advisor of Zima Health. Zima Health is an independently own wellness and lifestyle intervention company based in Maryland providing wellness and prevention solutions to customers throughout the United States.
