Grown all over the world and sipped by virtually everyone on the planet, what does a high quality coffee taste like? All Whole Foods Market stores feature beans hand-selected by Christy Thorns, Roastmaster of Allegro Coffee Company. Each sip of our Allegro Coffee tells a story of beans that were grown in rich soils, carefully picked, dried and hand sorted by farmers who take pride in their crops. These beautiful beans are roasted in small batches to bring out their inherent regional characteristics and flavors. The result is a truly unique array of coffees that span the roasting spectrum from light to extra dark roast. We search the world for the highest quality beans and partner with growers from over forty different farms who use traditional and sustainable methods when growing, harvesting and processing coffees. These growers share our values for environmentally friendly practices, such as water conservation, manual weeding (instead of using pesticides), and organic farming methods. We pay our farming partners a fair price that exceeds their cost of production. This fair price provides them the means to reinvest in their farms, hire and retain the best workers and stay in business for the long-term. This ensures that every cup of Allegro coffee tastes great year after year. Our unblended single origin coffees have strong, individual characteristics and offer a wide range of exciting flavors. They are also the building blocks from which coffee blends are made, so appreciating the unique flavors of single origins is key to appreciating and evaluating the blends. |
