Easy Meatball Subs

Serves 4
Loaded with meatballs and topped with fresh mozzarella and basil, these family-friendly subs are ready in 30 minutes, start to finish!
  • 4 prepared meatballs, quartered
  • 4 whole wheat sub rolls or hot dog buns, split but still connected on one side
  • 1 cup prepared marinara sauce
  • 4 slices fresh mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.  

Arrange meatballs on one of the prepared baking sheets. Bake until golden brown and warmed through, about 20 minutes.

Place opened buns on the other prepared baking sheet and arrange meatballs on top. Spoon sauce over meatballs, arrange cheese on top and bake until cheese is melted and subs are hot, about 10 minutes. Garnish with basil and serve.
