Quick Pizza Margherita

Serves 1

Use this same method to make any style pizza you like. Simply top with items that suit your taste like pepperoni, diced ham, sliced peppers and onions or crumbled feta cheese. Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available in the Whole Foods Market Family of Brands.

  • 1 round pita bread
  • Extra virgin olive oil*
  • 1 very ripe tomato, sliced
  • 1 ounce fresh goat cheese*, cut into rounds
  • 1 teaspoon prepared basil pesto*
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)

Position rack in center of oven. Place baking sheet on rack. Preheat oven to 400°F. Brush both sides of pita with olive oil. Cover one side with sliced tomatoes. Transfer to hot baking sheet. Bake 5 minutes then add goat cheese and dot with pesto. Sprinkle with Parmesan, if desired. Bake another 5 minutes or until cheese melts and crust is crispy.
