Foods for Picnics and Camping

Warmer temperatures mark the start of road trip season, whether that means getting into the wilderness or just visiting the city park for a picnic lunch. Packing foods to travel doesn’t have to mean limiting the menu to sandwiches and carrot sticks — there’s a whole host of fantastic options to try.

We have lots of picnic ideas, and making food ahead of time is a key for success. Utilize leftovers to quickly make up Mason jar salads, or pack all the fixings for your favorite dishes in separate containers so all you need to do is cook the protein and assemble.

Be sure to use plenty of freezer packs to keep everything cold, and avoid eating leftovers that have been sitting out in the sun. Keep cleanup simple with compostable plates and utensils, or choose reusable items that can be washed at home.

Pair picnic fare with our favorite healthy snacks for treats that will keep you going through your outdoor adventure.
