Recipe:
Dark Chocolate and Coconut Dessert Sauce
Makes about 1 cup
Drizzle over ice cream, pound cake or any dish where a bit of chocolate provides a finishing touch.
Ingredients
8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup full-fat coconut milk
Method
Place chopped chocolate in a medium-sized metal bowl. Create a double boiler by placing the bowl over a simmering pot of water. Gently melt the chocolate, stirring occasionally.
Pour coconut milk into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and pour over chocolate.
Gently stir until smooth, chocolate is completely melted, and coconut milk mixture is incorporated. Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving.
The sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. To reheat, warm the sauce gently in the top of a double boiler.
