Classic Cranberry Sauce

Makes about 2 cups

You'll love this easy version of classic cranberry sauce made from scratch. For variations, try Orange Cranberry Sauce, Cranberry Pear Sauce with Vanilla, or Cranberry Sauce with Candied Ginger.

Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 (12-ounce) package fresh or frozen cranberries

Method

Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and add cranberries. Return to a boil. Reduce heat and boil gently 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover and cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate until serving time.
